Summary: On this fateful day, He Qun, a pop singer was having his new song press conference when his girlfriend Rita left him for his bro Ah Zhe, who hated him for his ex-girlfriends' incident. Cheng Xiao Shi saw her boyfriend Peter hugging another girl on their 3 mths anniversary. While He Qun wanna avoid paparazzi, he knocked onto Xiao Shi and both of them fell and kissed! Xiao Shi asked He Qun to be his fake boyfriend in order not to lose her bet to her brother. The paparazzi publicised their kissing pic on newspapers and He Qun's manager decided to go along with them and denied He Qun & Rita's relationship. Instead, Xiao Shi was He Qun's true girlfriend and they were planning to get married. He Qun's father was unhappy with the scandal and requested He Qun to transfer sch to Ding Feng Uni, which happened to be Xiao Shi, Ah Zhe & Rita's uni as well. He Qun became classmate of Xiao Shi. Xiao Shi has been holding a touch for Ah Zhe for sometime while He Qun was still in love with Rita. As time passed by, He Qun and Xiao Shi became close and fell for each other, while Ah Zhe & Rita faced setbacks in their relationship. Ah Zhe also began to understand He Qun after many misunderstandings...
Comments: Super sweet sugar drama. Lolz! what am i saying? That just mean this drama is sweet la. When this drama started airing, it has this "full hse of tw" attached to it, coz the plot was kinda similar. Well, though the idea may not be original, it's quite different from Full Hse. So let's just dun mix them up. Plot wise, it's the typical tw idol drama. We have contract dating again...an ex-galfriend who couldnt believe her ex-bf could fall for someone so fast, and a brother who kept doing stuffs against his bro. Also, a bias dad and another heart-warming family. (all very tw idol drama factors) Surprisingly, the whole drama didnt have too many twists & turns and it's quite addictive from the start. The plot is getting sweeter & sweeter every epi...to me la. There's no pure nasty character here, even though there were some at the start, they wld all changed to nice folks later on. Hahaha!
This is Nic's first drama, rather good performance for a newbie. At least i didnt find him to be a wooden block throughout the drama. Nic has a nice voice and his smiles are lovely. Nic's flaw was that he was unable to bring out He Qun coldness or the cool factor. I think he's just too nice to Xiao Shi from the start la. As for singing part, no doubts he cld sing la. Many ppl complained abt Cyndi again...acting cute and cant act. Honestly I havent seen much improvement from her since "Heaven's robes". Xiao Shi herself was already a sotong and cute character. I mean Cyndi has to act cute by any means to bring out the sotong character. (i cld only think of Rainie Yang who cld do the similar job) So, whether she's acting cute again or not, i thought it's pretty alright for her role here. Nic & Cyndi's chemistry was rather good in this drama, and i enjoyed this drama alot becoz' of them. There are some comical scenes like them fighting with each other in ancient outfits or the "K.O" fighting game found in arcades.
It's rather a waste of talent for Gino & Xiao Qiao here. Though they are supporting leads, their scenes were pathetically few la. I thought it wld be nicer if there were more scenes given to them. Gino's acting was still rather stiff here, not much expressions, but i am glad for his change at the later part of the drama, supporting Xiao Shi all the way. Xiao Qiao was definitely better in "Prince who turned into frog". Her character Rita has not much developments, though her dressing was kinda striking. I thought she could do much more than that.
The other support cast was alright...esp Xiao Shi's family. Hehehe!
Finally, nice songs from the OST. I thought "xiao wu gui" was rather cute.
Ratings: 8/10 (enjoyable drama, though cant expect too much from it.)

Haiz..The best part is...i got HRM EVENING CLASS!!!! what the heck? gotta rot in sch till 6pm ah? must think of some plans liao...either rot in lib, or go to comp lab, or go out with ann? Final conclusion-E.W asked me to go home...yeah!!!
Sat: After Nihongo lesson gotta go temple to set up the game stall. Haiz...long time didnt participate in the funfair liao...felt so weird gg back there. Pray hard everything goes well...
Sun: Fu Hui Funfair lo...whole day....hope that my legs wont break.
And finally, i better pray hard that the coming tutorials' workload wont be heavy..where got time to do? hahaha!

TV Drama Review #44 - Fantasy Hotel 开心宾馆

Summary: Gan Zhi Jie & Han Shan are well-known tour guides in the travel industry. They had been through ups & downs in their careers and now they work in John's travel agency, who used to work under them. Jia Wen is a lucky housewife who has a good husband & she has nv work before. She decided to find job as a tour guide bringing eco-tours, but ended up she became trainee besides Zhi Jie & Han Shan who bring tours from China. The two guys disliked Jia Wen initially coz' she always brought trouble to them. Jia Wen soon found out that her husband Alex had an external affair with his personal assistant and decided to file for divorce. She also realised her ex-classmate Qiao Chu is Han Shan's girlfriend. Guang Kai, the owner of Wang Jin Hotel asked Jia Wen to work in his hotel. Soon, the hotel got into a fire and Guang Kai decided to give the ownership to the three as a gift for his gratitude. The hotel kept making losses while Han Shan & Zhi Jie's relationship turned sour becoz' of Qiao Chu. Guang kai's god-son Gao Xiang came to HK and was interested in Jia Wen, who fell for Zhi Jie. See how the hotel survived through its crisis and back on track again.
Comments: First impression, it's another lame drama. Basically u can break the drama up into 2 parts. Firstly, when the cast are still working as tour guides, and when they are working in the hotel. Honestly, the first few epis were lame & funny. The plot was not that bad as i thought, just that i couldnt stand any parts with Qiao Chu in it. She simply sux..but i must say that the actress did a gd job, so gd that i hate this character. Lolz! The plot started to go downhill towards the middle, when the 2 bros fought and became enemies. It started to pick up again when they were given the task to save the hotel. Though the plot was still quite lame at times, the mood was more serious with some touching parts. (like how uncle kai married his wife) The plot was quite honest with what we know in reality, tour guides cheating in order to earn more. I really laughed at the part when the 2 bros acted as Kuwaiti princes and told the tourists their "sad story" and asked them to buy jewellry etc. The impression given to me was those China tourists were too rich and they had a very big spending power. (which is very true)
Tao Da Yu was the right man to act as Zhi Jie. He's naggy but he wld go all out to help his friends. I always lol when i saw him nagging or scolding ppl with his hand moving up and down. I am glad that i saw something new from him. Wayne Lai's Han Shan was not a perfect character here. He's only pride was to have Qiao Chu as his galfren, and he always obey her commands. He's always waiting for easy money...very typical lazy bums in the society. His acting is terrific and i can tell u it seems easy to act such characters, but it's not so. Melissa Ng's Jia Wen was quite a sotong character. Melissa always looked rather classy in other dramas, this character simply changed my impression of her. I wont say there's a lack of chemistry b/w Melissa & Mr Tao, but it's not very strong. Supporting cast was rather excellent...without them, i wont get to laugh so much. Lol!
Ratings: 7/10 (the plot cld have been better...)

She opens a Korean restaurant with her younger sister, but soon faces the mercy of fate. The couple meets in a corner of Tokyo and fall in love. But what waits ahead of them… A “rondo” of fate, love, and history is about to begin.
Comments: A romance thriller drama, full of twist & turns. You will slowly know the true identities of the major characters in the drama. Not a bad try for the Japan-Korea collaboration. However, the pace is not the usual Jdorama style, rather abit slow, or more like korean style dramas. The plot was alright, nothing too spectacular. But i dont like the dialouge between the actors. One uttered in Japanese while the other uttered in Korean. As if they could understand each other, then sometimes they wld try to speak in each other's language. It's better to standardised the language ba, coz' it's just weird to see 2 languages going on in a drama. However, I like to see Shou teaching Yoon A Japanese while Yoon A did the same to him. It's quite sweet to see them interact la.
Cast wise, most of them are doing fine. It's nice to see Hayami again after "Gokusen 2". He looked very cool here, but the same expression from start to end. Ichikawa was reduced to a small character here as Ryugo's sister. It's a pity for the rising star, but i guess there will be more opportunities for her. Shin Hyun Joon looked so much better here than in "Staiways in Heaven". I liked his clean look...but he's the tragic character in the drama la..if u know what i mean. Choi Ji Woo's character has much depth, she looked innocent and pure on the outside, but deep down she has her secrets. Though many people didnt like her in Rondo, i think she has done a reasonable job here. However, her chemistry with Takenouchi isnt very very good, perhaps due to nationality differences. Our leading guy Takenouchi is so cool here! He's really an excellent actor! His performance was really superb la. But then i guess it's becoz' his character Shou has many developments too, with some unexpecting secrets behind him.
Ratings: 7.5/10 (This drama has many "dark" scenes, coz' happening at night or at some disco pubs. So, it may not be appealing to romance seekers. However, do give it a try, it's not tt boring.)

[Youtube] my gd buddy is giving me trouble sia..."Maiden's vow" only managed to watch till epi 7 then the whole drama kenna deleted! What the heck....Anyway, decided not to watch "Snow Queen" coz the plot was rather sad..and a little boring to me. May watch it when i am free lah...
Saw Ella's new idol drama "Hua yang shao nan shao nv" which is adopted from a japanese manga. Will be watching epi 1 to see how nice is it..
Btw, saw Sek Sau (Shi Xiu) in "Lovers" leh! Wow wow! If u dunno who i am talking about, he's that guy who came out oftenly in tvb dramas. Currently u can watch his performance in "triumphs in the skies". I was so surprised to see him in kr dramas lah...hehe!

James Bond Casino Royale + Mount Restaurant

[James Bond Casino Royale] Went to The Cathay to watch with Mr Chean, a James Bond fan. Ha! The intro was pretty long, but it's normal for J.B movies, practically u heard the whole themesong for abt 3 to 4 mins. Also, the intro was unique, seeing hearts & spades from the poker card killing "people". Anyway, J.B movies wont miss out "visiting" a few countries and tons of actions. We were first brought to Prague, then to Uganda and to Madagascar where the action really kicked off! J.B running after a black guy and the action movements were really intense & accurate...see their jumping scenes from super high places. Damn cool sia. Next, we were brought to the Bahamas where there were seaside and plenty of babes..don't worry, that italian actress wont last long here...lol! Then Miami appeared and another set of action kicked in, at the Miami intl airport..saw this super jumbo plane which kinda looked like A380...Mr JB was after some terrorist guy. Well, soon the casino scenes would come in when we were brought to the pretty Montenegro which was mountainous. Well, never believe in friends who u thot are friends, what a lesson JB has learnt in this movie. You wont realised who's the real mastermind until the very last moment, where the Bond gal Eva Green withdraw the money. Btw, she's a elegant lady. Finally, the ending scenes were all taken in Venice, super beautiful! Daniel Craig wasnt the ideal JB butta his performance was rather good here.

[Lunch/Dinner] Went to Chinatown's 地茂馆to have my meal. Before that, Tuan had bought a shirt, a 3/4 pant and her 4th pair of boots. Hahaha...ok that pair of boots is nice. Anyway, had a super full meal there..shall intro the dishes.

SR Gang Gathering: What?! Tenshin gals....

[Yday] Met up with the gals @ PS after my lect. Was worrying that i wld be quite late but lucky 174 came after i alighted from 74. Ha! Saw the 3 gals waiting outside spotlight...and Yukan madam was super tai-tai yday, coz' of her dressings. Felt so young beside her...lol! Anyway, great to see "long-time-no-see" les also. So Yukan madam & siew mai kept harping that someone wld come later at swensens...and i was really clueless la. I finally got what they were saying after my dinner...bengz! Might as well dun say someone wld come then more fun mah? Les was super curious la...lol! Anyway, had their grilled sambal fish and tried their salad, fried mushrooms and french fries...i like the mushrooms lo! Les's surprise came and we tried her mango ice cream cake.
Hoped that u have enjoyed yourself very much Les..happy belated bdae lo!

TV Drama Review #42- The Prince's Shadow 御用闲人

Summary: Gao Sheng is a personal attendant working for Emperor Qian Long. He practically did everything for his majesty, but did not gain any official status or post. One day, Ru Yi was in Sheng's room when she hit Qian Long on his head. From that moment onwards, Qian Long fell for Ru Yi at first sight, and asked Gao Sheng to create chances for them to meet. Soon, Empress found out and ordered Ru Yi to return home. However, Ru Yi was sold to Yang Zhou by the chief eunuch. Qian Long ordered Gao Sheng & Zhou Ri Qing to go to Yang Zhou to bring Ru Yi back. The two guys could not save Ru Yi due to lack of finance and got into trouble as Ri Qing's cousin misused his emperor guard status. Su San, the owner of Wan Hua Lou bought Ru Yi over and Ru Yi decided to stay there as she did not want to return to capital. Qian Long and Empress soon came to Yang zhou respectively, and Gao Sheng found out about Qian Long's real background....
Comments: A nice drama from TVB. Adam Cheng never fails to bring laughters in his drama. The plot was decent and interesting 80% of the time. I dont really like to see what happened b/w Gao Sheng & Qian Long in the end though, kinda spoilt the mood leh. As usual, cant expect much character developments from TVB dramas, but i like all characters except Mr Qian Long. Tuan & I used to call him "Mickey Mouse" becoz' that's how Marco Ngai looked when he smiled. Hahaha! I definitely think he is not suitable for this role, coz he made Qian Long looked like a fool, always dependent on Gao Sheng to do things. Kinda tarnished other Qian Longs'images in other dramas la. Personally, Adam Cheng & Ms Deng had the chemistry together, but i dont see the same when he is with Tavia. Maybe Tavia is too young for him la. Hah! Joyce Tang looked elegant as the empress, really pretty lo.
Ratings: 7.5/10 (Qian Long is really a lousy emperor here. Plot went downhill towards ending, quite a pity. )

TV Drama Review #41 - Gokusen 2 极道女鲜师2

Summary: It's a new drama without much links from Gokusen1. So dont worry if u havent watch G1 before. Yamaguchi Kumiko, the 4th generation heir of Oedo Family ( a yakuza family which literally mean Gangster) went to a prestigious all-boys high school to teach the most horretic class 3D. The class was full of punks and troublesome kids who had no aims in life and were seen as delinquents by their school. Kumiko has to ensure that they could successfully graduate from high sch in 3 mths time. Just as everyone gave up hope on them, see how Kumiko teaches them in her unique way and how she bonds with the class.
Comments: I havent catch the 1st instalment Gokusen yet, the cast was 90% different, except for the headmaster, Kumiko & her family, and Kuma. Basically, Yankumi (her nickname) wont exist in the reality world, sad to say. Teachers dont have so much time to handle so many problems. Her tectiques, her style...may be would only exist in mangas, but that's ok.
The plot was really fun, though it gets typical whenever Yankumi came to save her precious kids from being hit by other punks. Well, the storyline was quite standard, Yankumi would saved her students from trouble and also they would realised her secret(abt her background). It's quite fun to see how the kids accepted her as she proved to them that she's different from other teachers. Though it may be untrue to say this, the Japanese edu system is really problematic in some ways. Status can do anything, and the sch president and teachers were very afraid to get into trouble etc. It reflected something on their edu system...or maybe even other countries.
Yankumi is really a "zheng yi lao shi", holding up justice and values. This character was cute as well, like how she reacted when she saw Kujo sensei, whom she liked. Nakama was really perfect in acting Yankumi. Though she may looked old-fashioned with her sports attire and specs, she really has this unique personality. Her students were cute enough too. I bet many ppl are watching for Akanishi & Kame from pop grp Kat-tun. Hehehe! Their performance was great, though their characters dont need them to have excellent acting. I found Odagiri & Takeda abit niang though, esp Takeda, with those hairpins on his hairs..aiyo eh!
The whole cast was excellent, nothing to fault them. And i really enjoyed to see the headmaster as well. His expressions were exaggerating, but u wont be sick of him la.
The sound effects were quite funny though. This drama is one of the "noisiest" drama i've ever seen. Do look out when the headmaster and Yankumi talk or their movements, it's really cute la. Finally, the themesong by D-51 from Okinawa.."no more cry". Not bad lo~
Ratings: 8.5/10 (I would catch Gokusen 1 someday...nice & touching drama.)

TV Drama Review #40 - Anego

Summary: Naoko Noda, who works in a trading company, is called “anego” which means "big sister" and it was started by a new employee Kurosawa. Naoko, 32, works in the corporate strategy division. She is single, and has been working hard for 10 years. She finally met this guy who saved her in the train, but he happened to be her former ex-colleague Eriko's husband. Naoko seemed to be happy and successful on the outside, but deep inside she yearned to get married and was worried about her future. Kurosawa began to fall for Anego, but difficulties set in as they were 10 yrs old apart, and Kurosawa didnt want to get marry at 22.
This drama, through the main character, portrays the everyday life of working women realistically; what they are really thinking, the problems they face, and how they do their best to survive in this world.
Comments: A typical Japanese drama talking about OL lives, but I liked their way of presentation, coz' it is close to our daily lives. The plot is quite funny, especially the interactions b/w Kurosawa & Noda. There are some side lines beside them whenever they had some conversation, which actually showed what they were thinking inside their hearts. It's really cute. The plot also includes another side story about Eriko, her husband liked Noda and she became the 3rd party between the couple.
Shinohara has been very famous since this drama and her acting was really ichiban! Noda is not a perfect character, but who is not flawless right? Many people would start to pity Kurosawa coz' of Noda's actions towards him. But think again? if you're the woman who was 10 yrs older than the guy, wld u wait 5 yrs for him to become successful? Up to individual la..
Akanishi Jin from Kat-tun is also famous after "Gokusen 2". He did pretty well here, looked much more mature too. I guessed more gals who follow this drama for him, instead of our Anego la..hahaha! Tomosaka Rie is finally back with a good drama. I couldnt remember when was the last time i had watched her drama, perhaps in "Kindaichi Files". She's no longer the little gal i knew la, now she acted as a mum, a wife who's kinda mad at times...She has really matured alot and her acting was convincing too. The supporting cast was wonderful too! Bravo~

[Sch] Basically things are speeding up day by day. I dont look forward to yr end, coz my hellish days are coming soon. Sux! M.E is showing its true colours now, looks alright but i went blur while doing my assignment. Die liao..how to pass huh? My readings are stacking up liao...esp for HRM. No motivation to study those boring stuffs..damn!
Also, just received news that one of my mkting lects kenna cancelled. Haiz..gotta go back to sch in feb for the make-up. Lucky it's in the morning! Phew~ Wondering when is my HRM lect make-up lesson too, i dun want to kenna night class lo! Super sianz...
