What's it abt?
Cha Yeon grows up in an orphanage with her friend Ho Tae. She has a son,Duri out of wedlock and Duri is terminally ill. Cha Yeon agrees to marry the president of JS grp Shin Dong Ju, who uses her to create a scandal, so that his wife Seung Hye would divorce him. On the other hand, Dong Ju agrees to pay Cha Yeon a big sum of money after 3 yrs, while he continues to see his mistress, singer Suh Yoo Kung, who wants to become his wife.
Seung Hye started Star Knicks entertainment and competes with JS Grp. Cha Yeon was forced to leave the Shin family after Dong Ju's mum found out that she has an "affair" with Ho Tae.
The two worked hard, even though they had to change many jobs and finally, Cha Yeon gets a chance to sing at a night club.
Seung Hye noticed her singing talents and signed her up as her company's singer. Dong Ju has fallen for Cha Yeon though he kept on denying while his grandmother kept wanting Cha Yeon back.
On the other hand, Seung Hye's sister Eun Woo and Dong Ju's brother Dong Hyun fell for each other.
Loves & Hates:
SBS's friday dramas are more towards mature audience, so the cast generally are more matured as well la..and the plots are mostly family-oriented. Well, MLF is my first friday drama..and it turned out to be interesting. Plot was quite standard actually, all the characters were connected, which might be unrealistic somehow. Butta, what attracted me was the peformance from the cast.
Long time didnt c Kim Ji Young in dramas..and i loved her performance here. Though Cha Yeon is a very loud woman..quite "chor lor" and appeared to be tough, she's vulnerable inside. This character is full of developments...u share her joy and tears. She has nice chemistry with the 2 male leads...though in the end Cha Yeon didnt end up with Dong Ju....soobbzz. (I really like seeing the 2 of them together..)
This is my first time seeing Park Sang Min la.."super attractive" uncle..haha! Though he's not handsome and not young...his expressions were priceless. He did very well here, trying not to show his wounded heart to anyone. You could feel he's a very lonely fella. Haha...of coz' gotta mention Dong Ju is quite a "hiao" fella..wearing bright coloured shirts etc...haha! (Do catch PSM in "Bad Couple"...but he's a rotten guy there..lolz)
Kim Yoo Suk..perhaps most of u have seen him in "Be Strong! Geum Soon". He's a rough guy here..good acting...butta he and Cha Yeon shouted too much la...(Koreans are really loud ..lolz!)
Wang Bit Na is a very elegant lady sia..loved her dressings and acting here. Seung Hye is a pathetic lady actually...and i think Bit Na did very well...hiding her emotions and love for her ex-husband. However, they are always challenging each other sia...i liked her confident look. Super professional!
As for tt Yoo Kyung...sucky character...haha!
Worth watching?
Would reco my pals to watch...I would say the ending is alright, but not what i hoped for. Lolz...also, no ending for Dong Hyun and Eun Woo..

--HM's Birthday Bash--
Went to Changi Safra to attend HM's bdae party with CC Gang yday evening. Expected a big crowd from her family..haha! She only invited her sec sch pals la....so we were "outnumbered". Lolz! Anyway, her family and relatives were friendly folks and I had enjoyed my stay there la. We were planning to sarbo her all the time during our games etc. Finally got to psycho her to sing us a song, but she only sang half of it....what the. Lolz...
Anyway, hope u like your presents lo gal! I had a gd time yday. Thanks la!
P.S: Her mum was so nice to ask us to go over to their hse someday and she will cook for us. Butta, dunno when it will happen. Lolz....

昨天晚上，那位来自马来西亚的法师跟我们讲解到“心经”的含义。
说实在的，“心经”的意境其实很难懂。
“空”似乎好像可以理解。不过，也可以很抽象。

TV Drama Review #84 - Bad Couple 不良情侣

What's it abt?
Choi Gi Chan is an university Botanic Professor with the "perfect genes." The drama is about a fashion magazine editior, Kim Dang Ja, who suddenly develops an urge to have her own baby despite opposing the idea of marriage. Dang Ja strives hard to look for a man with perfect genes to accomplish her mission. Gi Chan happens to be her "target". In order for her to accomplish her mission, Dang Ja goes all out to seduce Gi Chan.
On the other hand, Han Young's husband Yoo Seok had an affair with a fellow doctor. Han Young does not want to get a divorce as it will affect their son. Later, Han Young decided to take revenge by having a fake boyfriend. Jung Soo agreed to help Young and later fell for her. Young finally decided to get a divorce, but Yoo Seok rejected this time round....
Love & Hates:
Plot was quite interesting and fresh, though now i am kinda reminded of TVB's "La Femme Desperado". It's interesting becoz I have never seen a female lead so enthu to hunt for her "perfect genes". However, the interesting factor stopped after Dang Ja found out abt her illness. Back to sqaure one...typical korean plot.
Basically, I like the cast except for Yoo Seok & his mistress. Haha!
Shin Eun Kyung is well-known for her movies, and she did equally well for her drama. I really lol when Dang Ja tried all her ways to get close and sedece Gi Chan. I also get to see Dang Ja's emotional moments. I guessed u guys can feel for her...save her child or save herself..needs lots of courage to decide what's the best for both of them.
I am glad Ryu Soo Young got this role after Lee Dong Wook back out. I think LDW is not suitable for this role..hahaha! Gi Chan is a guy with traditional mindset. It's not surprising given his background...(those korean traditional manors..). I really enjoyed his performance here...great chemistry with SEK. I liked to see both of them fighting all circumstances standing in their way.
The other sub-plot is b/w HY and her cheating hubby YS. PSM is one actor with attractive eyes. However, his eyes didnt "work" well in this drama leh...haha! What a pity..not a shuai uncle here. Haha..First seen him in "My Lovely Fool"..he has similar images in his recent dramas, but his choice of characters cld be easily differentiated. This time round...he's the cheating husband. I think everyone dislikes YS..he's one selfish fella. PSM made this character quite funny sometimes, especially when he decided to get back with HY..his sai-nai expressions were super funny...hahah!
Choi Jung Yoon who acted as HY gave a gd performance too. We cld see how a dependent housewife finally becomes independent and knows what she wants. I like her change in the drama and her chemistry with Yoo Gun.
Speaking of this guy Yoo Gun, first impression is he looks like Won Bin. Haha...he's pure korean btw. Not too bad, though initially his acting was kinda woody. He's not the first guy to be picked for this character...but i think he did well la.
OST is nice too...check out the theme song and the love theme by ex Baby Vox member Kan Mi Yeon.
Worth watching?
This drama does not really target at young ppl...but i think it's a gd drama. Sometimes a grp of mature cast really do help alot ...coz' i won't get to see woody or expressionless characters. Reco to u guys!

What's it abt?
Right after getting out of prison for a jewelry con, Xia Zhi Xing got entangled in another stolen jewelry case, in which she was mistaken for the thief when the police caught her holding the stolen "Queen Mary." The real perpetrator was actually Zhong Tian Qi, the rebellious young master of the E Shine, who owned the precious stone. Tian Qi stole the "Queen Mary" to spite Ou Ya Ruo for breaking up with him to marry his brother Tian Jun. Since Qi couldn't return home, he went with Xing back to her hometown to experience the one million possibilities that she believed. Thw two soon got together and Ya Rou was deeply jealous, even though she was engaged with Jun. Ya Rou's dad asked her for money again and Ya Rou tried to get rid of him. She delibrately did something to the car but out of her expectation, Jun drove the car to fetch Xing to Qi, hoping that they would reconcile. Jun and Xing got into an accident, which killed Jun and Qi misunderstood Xing for escaping without saving his brother.5 yrs later, Qi took over E Shine and became a cold-blooded person. Xing met Han Zhi Yin, who's going to be the spokesperson for E Shine at an event. Xing didn't expect to meet Qi again and this time round, she's stuck between Qi and Yin. Meanwhole, Yin found out who's his real father and it happened to be..
Loves & Hates:
Actually this drama can be split into 2 parts...when Qi was still a rebellious fella and after his bro died, he changed to another person. Kinda sianz abt Leon Williams kenna "killed" la, and Li Wei only appeared in the drama at the later part. Plot was more interesting after Qi changed butta it kinda copied the Korean drama style...contract fiancee for 3 months. I wish TW idol dramas can have something better than all these "lao xi ma".
This is Jimmy Lin's first idol drama...and to be honest, his looks didnt give his age away..haha! Still a young fella ah...butta his acting didnt quite impress me at first. He got better at the 2nd half...more expressive and with more mixed emotions.
Yoo Ha Na...a korean who debut in TW..her voice is dubbed la..but she could speak mandarin sia. Found her acting average la, but as the drama went on..she got better..Koreans tend to have exaggerated expressions initially..haha!
Leon Williams was alright here...his character didnt have much developments la..and poor him loved someone who didnt love him. Well, quite obvious he had to give way to Jimmy Lin and became the 2nd lead (for half of the drama..). Now i wonder if he would be back as a main lead next time..
Hong Xiao Ling...acting was alright also...at least she's pretty enough. Haha..though many ppl would detest her character, but Ya Ruo is a pathetic fella. All the sadness was caused by her actions actually...
Li Wei looked good in this drama and i enjoyed his performance la. Hehe...it's quite a pity he wasn't in this drama throughout. Loved his chemistry with Yoo Ha Na. It would be quite nice if the 2 ended up as a couple lo..but u know..
Worth watching?
A not-too-bad idol drama...though the plot has nothing new to offer.

Harry Potter and The Order of Phoenix

--Harry Potter & The Teachers--
Met up with the gals tdy @ AMK Hub...for "Harry Potter". I am not a H.P fan..so wasn't feeling excited, even tho it was my 1st time catching H.P in theatres...and I had only seen H.P1 b4. (Haha..but it was another case for the other 2..) So we catched the movie with bunch of students..haha! (old liao...)
I shall not say anything abt the movie plot as I think many of u have watched it la. Generally, the movie was quite fun to watch, but not up to my expectations. The real part of the story i supposed was to deal with that baddie...(pardon me i dunno how to spell his name..haha!). Butta, the real "battle" only occurred towards the ending ah..and nothing exciting...(again...it seemed so easy for the good against the evil...and that baddie just siam when others came in..)
Had my dinner with the gals at the foodcourt. The kimchi soup was cheap, but not the most delicious yet...haha!

逛街记

--HG Mall Chinese themed Kopitiam--
今天终于去了新开张的Kopitiam。。果然比HG central那家还class。
整间食阁都很chinese。。
玻璃窗有五大方言的民谣，granite桌上刻了很多诗词，还有很特别的椅子。
食物的选择也挺多，人潮也挺汹涌。
不过，价钱就不是那么便宜啦。
听说五楼的食阁到了九月就结束营业了。。不知道会有什么新商店进来。。
期待着。。。

有人车祸身亡吧。。好像是巴士撞到人啦。。咳~
今天其实是陪璇逛街啦。。顺便找礼物。

璇小姐买了个GUESS的包包，还有一双Neckermann的凉鞋。
礼物也买到啦。。哈哈！

CC Gang Gathering: Escape Themepark

--Let me escape--
Haha...met up with the 3 gals this afternoon. Long long time didnt go Escape liao..this' my 2nd time only sia. Gotta thanks HM for her promo tixs..half price..haha! (if ask me pay 16 bucks i die also dun wan to pay). SC was quite excited, but it wasn't the case for me..coz' nothing much has changed in Escape la. (Overseas themeparks are way better..)
Anyway, felt happy that i could drive "go-kart" and play "Inverter", which i had missed out last time. However, "Rainbow", "Pirate's ship" and "Revolution" were under maintenance..wth?!
Haizz...Inverter was a painful experience..and i really don't know why ppl enjoyed it so much. "Go-kart" was fun...drived the easy and difficult pathways..but the queues were super long sia. Also, buay tahan some "queue-cutters". HM was very brave to shout so loud to some of them, but what a pity they bo chap her. Hahahha!
Anyway, was kinda worried that i wouldn't drive well....but haha! It turned out that i also could drive quite well la..but super fast. Haha...HM was startled when i drove her on the easy track..lolz...paiseh ah gal...
Oh ya..bumped into YN and her pals ya...haha! So qiao~
The other machines were alright..nothing too shiok.."Haunted house" was super crap, but still got ppl screamed like mad...what the..lolz! (Don't worry...no real ppl inside to scare u...no kick!)
Had dinner @ Downtown east....average meal, but the food there was kinda ex. Haiz...
I have enjoyed myself today la...thank u la gals!

美梦成真

今天早上作了一个梦。
梦见SCV又好了。。
起床后，太后叫我去double check。
哇！scv 终于有signal了。。
第一次觉得真有“美梦成真”eh。
哈哈哈。。。才怪！
碰巧而已。
昨天在看电视啊，突然间那个set top box收不到signal。。。
我还打电话叫starhub的人上来看eh。。
哎哟。。
所以呢。。刚才还真以为没事啦。。
谁知道。。。set top box又没signal。。
时好时坏。。。有没有搞错啊starhub？
你们这次的software upgrade也太差了吧。。
客人很不满意哦！

TV Drama Review #82 - Air City 天空之城

What's it abt?
Han Do Kyung, who was working in Singapore, was scouted to work as Chief of operations of Korea's Incheon airport. Her only regret was to leave her sister behind and left for France.
Later, she met an National Intelligence Service agent Kim Ji Sung and got entangled with him. Many of the times, both of them were in some kind of conflict.
Kim Ji Sung returned to Korea and wanted to seek revenge for a colleage who was killed in HK. Often, he broke the rules and acted on his instincts, thus he created many problems for his colleages. Just as his relationship with Do Kyung got better, he found out that his previous lover was also working in the airport clinic.
Kang Ha Joon, a childhood friend of Do Kyung, is also falling for her. Ha Joon is a quick-tempered and speaks aggressively due to the nature of work-watching over thousands of surveilance cameras in the airport. However, his relationship with his colleages were quite close, even the cleaning aunties too. As his friendship develops with Do Kyung, he becomes a strong source of refuge for her. Ha Joon helped Do Kyung to search for her sister and did many things for her...but his efforts were unrequited.
Loves & Hates:
I have learnt not to hold high expectations for any big productions. Now the trend is...the bigger is the production, the easier it will flop. I won't say Air City is a flop though...it's within my expectations somehow. Given the action-romance genre, one can expect romance would take up a lesser space la. However, I feel that the romance part was too little. Thus, the drama was kinda dried and boring. Originally this drama shld be 20 epis, but due to poor viewership, it was reduced to 16 epis. Thus, the "rushing" factor came in...left 2 epis to sort out the relationships of the characters. Plot was slightly above average...I would say the action part was quite nicely done. We could roughly see how an airport was operated and see many parts of the airport which was inaccessible to public. It's not really easy to balance well b/w action and romance for korean dramas. I think HK dramas are better in this aspect. (Many ppl like to watch police-related dramas...and their plots are fantastic.)
The cast did well generally...due to the genre, I don't really get to see much character developments from them. But that's ok...Choi Ji Woo and Lee Jung Jae have sparks between them la..and i like Ji Woo's new image. Confident and daring woman...(no more Winter Sonata ah~)
Lee Jung Jae..I had seen his movies...and this is his long come back drama. Did a relatively good job here. The problem is his image didnt give me a new factor. He looked kinda same in his movie "Typhoon" with Jang Dong Gun.
Saw Lee Jin Wook in "Pls smile again"..and he definitely has looked better and improved alot. Looked compatible with Ji Woo...He has more screen time than Choi Ji Woo sia...haha! Anyway, looking forward to his new drama.
If u have watched "Alone in Love", then u will know Moon Jung Hee. She has a nice mellow voice. Liked her performance here...Myung Woo is not an evil girl here...but her character reminded us of many other Kdrama characters out there..becoz' she didnt want her bf to know she's down with illness...so broke up with him...and she appeared again...and that guy is stuck b/w 2 gals. (I bet most of u wld think of Sam Soon ba? ) She has quite a few dramas this yr..do catch her performance.
OST is nice too..with Dong Bang Shin Ki contributing 2 songs.."Harudal" and "All in Vain". Quite different from their normal music...
Worth watching?
I would reco those who don't mind watching action dramas..but for those who like romance-comedy..this drama is not for you.

Busy Week Part I & II

Met up with the gals yday for dinner @ The Central's "Pasta de Waraku". I had only been to the Waraku serving Japanese food la..so this new restaurant is very new to me.
Check out the menu~
This is one of the few restaurants with such a wide variety of food sia...there are at least 4 pages of spaghetties with different sauces. Also, this restaurant emphasised alot on healthy and japanese style pasta. Very creative sia! I am quite sure u guys dunno what to choose sia..hahaha!

My "Seafood cream tomato sauce soup pasta"...first time ate such a "watery" spagh...oishii!

Walked over to Clarke Quay..and Val showed us the famous themed restaurant "Clinic"...haha! Wonder what kind of food is served there...

Met up with the gal @ Orchard today. Basically...we were walking here and there..searching for the right stuffs...tired sia! Anyway...just too glad that we had completed the tough "mission". Hahaha...
Hardly check out the small food palours @ the Taka food court ya...so today went to check'em out. Wah seh...lots of delicious stuff...wanna try them out next time.
Had our lunch @ Omu Rice...think the main attraction is their omelette rice ba.

My lunch...Set B...consisted of the Omu rice, "super small" unagi, fried chicken, scallops and macaroni....Oishii!!!! Haha..basically i paid extra 1 buck for my JustTea green peach bottle..gd deal ba? Hehe...
Went to Kino to check out the JLPT Lvl 3 books...hmm...not very cheap sia. Think wld drag E.W there next time...So i think i wld take up the challenge sia...Haha!

--話す会--
今天参加会话group的人好少喔~原本只有我和Mandy，还挺担心无法跟Yuko-san好好沟通。幸好新成员Eric有来。。要不然真不知道该怎么办。哈哈!
早些时候，我们已经约好今天一起去唱karaoke。可惜，到了门口，才发现karaoke在装修。。残念ですね~
Yuko-san后来带我们到一楼的便利商店“参观”。。她简单的介绍一些日本的食品啦。。
之后， 我们回到了课室，Yuko-san便开始聊聊日本和新加坡的公共假期和节日。
清子今天也了解到日本人如何庆祝一些节日，也发现他们有很多假期的真正意义只是要让大家放个假。。哈哈!
离开之前，我们到了图书馆去。(其实只有会员才可以去的啦。)
清子今天才发现在三楼“接待处”的那些图书。。是可以让我们借的。咳!
现在在考虑要不要考JLPT 3。。
还有， 清子在八月的时候，会去由JAS主办的夏祭り(Summer Festival)那儿当义工。不知道会发生什么事。。祝我好运!

What's it abt?
Takamura Keita is a 40-year-old man who marries a 20-year-old undergraduate, Eren. He later finds out that his wife's mother Hirose Rie is his former lover. Loves & Hates:
Actually this drama is not as boring as what i thought. Ya it may be plain somehow, but I like how the mums of the couple came into their lives. Haha...Oda Yuji is an excellent actor and i really enjoyed his performance. Ueno did well in her previous drama "Nodame". This time round, she's not that exaggerating...butta, I kinda find her childish beside Oda. Haha...age difference sia. U may not like Eren coz' she's quite insecure and don't really trust her husband la. Oda has better chemistry with Otake though...hahaha! As for Ijima's character...kinda find her redundant...
Perhaps the other subplot was abt Takamura's change of job. Kinda telling me that sometimes we gotta accept reality and work in a totally different environment. Just like Takamura..who was an IT professional..but ended up working in a restaurant...
Worth watching?
Would reco to those who like light-hearted comedy...

An excellent performance

--JUMP-Comic Martial Arts Performance--
I think many of you may have heard of "Storm" from Korea, butta I don't know how many ppl know "Jump"..Anyway, I caught their performance this afternoon at Esplanade theatre...and it was spectacular! Hahaha! Laughters and applauses throughout the show.
What's it abt? (From sistic)
JUMP tells the story of an idiosyncratic Korean family under the rule of a strict grandfather who insists on keeping up the physical fitness of all family members through vigorous martial arts training. The performance comes to a climax when two stupid thieves break into the house and confront three generations of kung-fu masters, inspiring a series of ridiculous scenes.
What's so special?
The perfomance combined physical comedy and taekwondo...and also acrobatics, sword fighting and wall-walking. Super pro fellas...
Well, I like their slow motion and rewind effects...super gd coordination and each character has his/her speciality..haha! Of coz..the lightings and sound effects were great too.
Clapped for dunno how long towards the end of the performance...and many of us were quite high la...haha!
It's my first time watching a theatre performance sia...a very different feeling when i compared with classical concerts.
Well, glad that Tuan also enjoyed the performance..hehe! (coz' I was the one who wanna watch la..)
