What's it abt?
Yan Bo and his team worked with the police force to crack down many murder cases. Xiao Rou is the new head of the police department. Ze Chen is a forensic doctor who does post-mortem on the victims. Ding Ding is a new junior technician in the forensic team. Besides cracking the cases together, the characters were also entangled in their romances. Chen and Rou dated each other briefly but broke up after they found that they are suitable to be friends. Rou and Bo's romance was hindered by Bo's actions as he still loved his late wife. Chen and Ding Ding clicked off well and romance sparked.
Love & Hates:
The websites said FH is the chinese version of CSI. Though I have nv watch CSI before, I think FH is still far from CSI, in terms of the production and plot. FH's plot is actually quite a standard formula for other TVB police-related dramas. Just that, this time round, the plot's main focus was how the forensic team assisted the police force. It tends to show that without the forensic team, the police force wld find it hard to crack cases becoz' of lack of evidences. Haha! As for the cases, it's easy to guess who are the suspects. I wished TVB wld improve on the cases, may be make them more tougher or with more twists. It's really no kick..haha!
The cast was good generally. I wld say there's chemistry b/w the leads, but not very much coz' the romance part was touched on rather briefly.
Bobby's performance was as expected. It's either he's a funky guy or a serious guy in his dramas. This time round, he kinda reminded me of his character in "Take My Word for It".
I did quite enjoy Linda's performance and I think she's getting better each time round. Perhaps must thank TVB for giving her many chances la. Hah!
Frankie and Yoyo were alright, nothing new from their performance. However, I like Yoyo letting her hair down, she's more pretty lo.

Worth watching?
Definitely a must-watch! There will be a sequel next yr, with Charmaine Sheh and Kevin Cheng as additional cast. Spectacular ne!

SR Gang is back

Went to meet up the teachers with Ann. Was super hungry today...dunno why. But after my lunch, I am super full now. Hahaha! Body getting weird huh? Anyway, I think this was my 2nd visit to "Manhatten Fish Mkt". Check my meal..
Had Fried Fory filet and poached mussels. Honestly, Manhatten's filet has not impressed me yet, it's too soft. Haiz...The poached mussels were delicious though, and the calamaris were not bad too. Butta, I think I wld still prefer "Fish & Co" ba.
Talked about many things today, butta actually we have been talking about those stuffs thru msn. Haiz...same old stuffs...really sianz. We shall see the future developments.
Anyway, glad to see u gals la.
Weekends are coming, but there seems to be many things I haven't complete. Ho!

Today, the "Zi Mo" queen E.W won la. Got other nicknames for the gals. Ann is known as the "Ang Tiong" girl, while SC is "Sleepy" girl. Hahaha! Anyway, hoped u gals had fun.

To my pal...thanks for ya concern. She's doing ok though that allergy thingy is still uncure. Will update if she recovers. Hehe! Dunno is it China's site problem or my internet problem, MSN is not functioning well...and she said Skype is slow too. So didnt dl the prog. Haiz...so what is technology is highly advanced? U must be in the right place to use it for communication. Ha!

TV Drama Review #97 - The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince 咖啡王子一号店

Eun Chan had to take up many jobs to pay off debts and even gave up her feminine image. Choi Han Kyul is the heir of a big food company, but his grandmother wants him to settle down, so she arranged many dates for him. After Eun Chan bumped into Han Kyul and was mistaken for a boy, Han Kyul decided to hire Eun Chan to be his gay lover in order to avoid the arranged dates. Desperately in need of money, Eun Chan had no choice but to accept. Han Kyul's grandmother also made Han Kyul in charge of a filthy coffee shop in danger of being bankrupt. Eun Chan begged to work at the coffee shop, and not long after, feelings start to spark. How would Han Kyul accept his "homosexuality"?
Love & Hates:
This drama was interesting initially, especially when Han Kyul was confused over his feelings. However, the plot went back to standard Korean storylines after HK found out that EC was a girl. That might also be the cause of the viewership ratings unable to cross the 30% mark towards the end. Nonetheless, the drama is still quite refreshing with a cafe background and interesting characters. The only part I disliked was the storyline b/w Han Sung and Yoo Joo. Well, dunno what the girl is thinking, though they finally got back together. The other side plots b/w other characters were all right, and I like the bond b/w the staffs of Coffee Prince.
YEH shed her old image and it turned out to be very successful. Now there's sort of a trend to have a super boyish haircut for gals. Haha. I think she tried very hard to be in this role, from her deepen voice, to her behaviour and dressing. I think she did a gd job.
GY finally impressed me this time round. Actually I think I havent seen his other dramas, butta they seemed normal to me. (That's why I didnt watch mah...) I loved how he coped with his "homosexuality". Though I didnt quite like the part when he was angry with EC at one moment, and got back with her quickly the next moment. What's that? Emotions cld switched back so easily ah? His expressions were vivid too...good job!
Impression of LSG was alright when he's in "Loveholic"..was a baddie then. This time round, couldnt' get use to his nice guy image at first, but then he carried off well as the drama goes. It's quite a pity his side plot with EC was so short..hehe!
CJA is like YEH, a singer before. Her acting was alright, not much expressions from her and I didnt like her character. What a pity!
OST was nice...very jazzy, relax & light-hearted.
Worth watching?
I think it's quite interesting, a drama u shouldn't miss.

Shop and shop

Haha...dunno why there seems so many nice things to buy. Lolz...and E.W was kinda in shopping mood. Well, actually my plan is to buy a birthday gift for YN and find something suitable to wear for my cousin's wedding dinner. (Ya another cousin whom I had seen only once early this yr....haha!) Now super scared of red bombs, though I know there's another one coming next year. Aiyoyo....
So, walked to Wisma and E.W found a nice pair of sandals @ Pretty Fit. I think this is her first pair of wedges...haha! Then, went to Giordano Concept store and bought another sleeveless top. Haha....now it has become one of my favourite stores ah~ (Actually normal Gio stores also got sell Concept store's clothings, but don't know where they wanna differentiate b/w the two. ) Went to Isetan and walked around, found a nice "top" @ Mango....my 1st piece of clothing from them. Hahaha....Settled my clothes for wedding dinner la. E.W actually wanna find hers too, but found nothing suitable. Went to Chomel @ Taka and bought YN's present la, bought a bracelet for myself too. Hehe....
Many shoppers at OG today, esp. at the Guess discounted bags section. Lolz...u will find tons of people carrying similar Guess bags...sianz..E.W was looking around @ Cupid Jewels, but the jewellery didnt caught her eye. That salesgirl's service was not very pleasant, her way of talking wasn't professional at all. Don't feel like buying from her...haha!
Walked over to PS, intending to return home. Just then we passed by SK Jewellery so E.W decided to take a look. Finally, something caught her fancy...and she bought her 1st diamond ring..really shiny sia. Actually, besides the ring itself, SK has a policy that u can upgrade and sell ur jewellery in 2 yrs time and they wld pay u back @ full price. Hahaha! Good deal sia...Plus, their services were way better than the previous one @ CJ. Haha! Anyway, I am glad that E.W had found something nice...butta, Mr Chean's pocket burnt a hole la. Lolz..... (Small hole..ha!)

Smsed me earlier just now and said she's suffering from an unknown allergy...hands red and itchy. The Chinese doc in the hospital didnt tell her the cause and just prescribed her medicine. Diaoz...may be she shld have asked. Anyway, abit worried abt her condition now, who knows when her hands wld stop itching. Haiz....lousy hostel still cant access internet! OMG! super inefficient! Qi si ren le!

Hwang Jini The Movie

--Movie or Drama?--
Watched the movie via Tudou yday night. "Hwang Jini" will be in theatres from 27th Sept. Personally, I had watched the drama version by Ha Ji Won last year. Inevitably, there will be comparisions between the two. So, which one is worth watching?
The movie version focused more on Jini's personal life & relationships, given the time length of a movie, it will be quite unfair to compare the storylines between the two. However, I preferred the drama version which focused not just on Jini's life, relationships, but also on the training of young Gisaengs, competitions between them, and the relationships between them and their teachers. Obviously, the drama could cover more on these parts, so that's why i said it's quite an unfair comparison.
What I think I could compare was the actresses. Song Hye Gyo did a gd attempt in portraying this role, but I found that she lacked the 妩媚element. Wondered why her makeup was so much lighter than Ha Ji Won's...and I found her too pale in the movie, thus she couldnt really bring out the "colourful", "glam" factors of a Gisaeng. Ji Won, on the other hand, looked really glamorous with her colourful hanboks, accessories and of coz, thicker makeup.
As for the male lead Yoo Ji Tae, it's quite a pity that his character is actually kinda like "flower vase". The relationship between the two was briefly touched on, and I guessed the most touching moment wld be the last moments of Ji Tae's character. Butta, I am not touched at all...there's kinda weak chemistry between them and I really could not feel much for them. (As I said earlier on, the movie version did not have much room for them to develop the relationship.)
As for the ending, it was beautifully done at some mountain in North Korea.
Is it worth watching? For those who hasn't watch the movie, u can give it a try, though it can be a little boring here & there. For those who are like me, I think u wld like to give it a try by watching online. Haha...I think the drama version is better.

Was alone at home when i sensed the floor was shaking. Now Ah Ching is super pro with earthquake vibrations. Haha! This time round, the vibrations was smaller than last time, lasted for a min or so ba. I wasn't very sure abt it till just now I went to check on NEA and CNA webbies. So i was right....hahaha! (I still thinks it's something wrong with myself first...hahaha!)

TV Drama Review #96 - Why Why Love 换换爱

Tong Jia Di needs a life besides work and paying her family debt, So her best friend Xiao Nan sneaks in a “Love” coupon in Jia Di’s raffle box praying that the lucky guy who draws it will sweep Jia Di off her feet. As it so happens, Huo Yan, the compassionate manager Jia Di has a secret crush on, is the lucky guy. However, though the prince can exchange the coupon for Cinderella’s love, it doesn’t mean he will be able to do it, especially when his devilish younger brother is determined to exchange his “Master/Angel” coupon for her servitude.
Love & Hates:
Well, gotta say first tt I dont mean to offend any fans of WWL. Haha! I am always quite critical of TW idol dramas. I remembered I am like the only one who didnt like "Devil beside you". With the same cast, WWL didnt impressed me much too. Honestly, I think the cast cant create new sparks to impress me anymore. Plot was alright, nothing to make me so anxious to carry on. I really wonder how i can finish this drama, with lots of skipping of coz. Lolz! The last part of the drama made Huo Da sick...and suddenly, the "devils" all turned good-I meant Yan Shu and Huo Da's dad. Quite redundant...i seriously dun feel the need to have such a twist. Happy ending with a twist in the end is like too happy to be true. What's more, the twist is nothing special.
Mike hasn't impressed me with his dramas, and his previous dramas didnt have very high viewerships. WWL sort of saved his face by hitting 4+...not bad for him. Acting is as usual, the devilish guy who likes to torture the female lead. His expressions were sharp, especially with his starings. Butta, I don't really see much improvements from him.
Kingone did well this time round, maybe his character was given more developments la. He carried off quite well as HY, though sometimes I find Mike looking older than him...lolz! (Maybe he needs a more mature look to look older than Mike).
Rainie, the cutie pie in her dramas was alright la. Liked her sub theme in the drama, but I heard it too often. I wished she wld challenge new roles in the future, like what Angela Chang did in "Ai Sha 17". I think she wld impress me better, like what she did for her movie.
As for Judy, I wondered if she's a pure chinese (I think she's a Japanese). Her pronounciaion was quite problematic, plus her acting was terrible. Who on earth picked her to act ah? I mean there are better actresses. She's not pretty, can't act and I cant tolerate her hairdo. Ha!
Worth watching?
Personally I wont reco to u guys, butta I bet many of u wld watch it for the cast. Haha! Lots of kissing scenes etc, butta, it just cant make me hooked up for it.

Well, Ah Ching is quite optimistic over certain things, butta I guessed it's because I have never go through it before. There's a saying in Chinese, 旁观者清，当局者迷. When you are in the situation yourself, you won't be able to see things clearly. So, I am in no position to say anything. Haha!
In Ah Ching's world, I guessed things have been simpler for her. Hmm...perhaps there are some parts which are hidden somewhere, waiting for me to dig it out someday.

Asada Ryutaro is enjoying his peaceful life in the countryside, when he is visited by Kato Akira, an assistant professor of the Faculty of Cardiac Surgery at Meishin University Medical Hospital.
Ryutaro is a genius surgeon who used to lead "Team Medical Dragon," a world-class NGO medical team. In harsh environments that lacked medicine and electricity, Ryutaro witnessed many lives pass away. At the same time, he saved many other lives.
As a female doctor, Akira managed to become an assistant professor. She has ambitions to be promoted to professor by succeeding in a surgery using the Batista technique — an extremely difficult type of heart surgery — and also by writing a thesis on it. A year ago, Akira witnessed Ryutaro's skills when he was an NGO doctor. That's why she recruits him and asks him to use the Batista technique. Since Ryutaro's arrival, urgent patients who would have been abandoned in the past, are miraculously saved by the "hands of God". However, Ryutaro's behaviour also caused many problems in the Uni Hospital. On the other hand, Akira's boyfriend Kirima is also working on the same dream as her...but Akira didn't know about Kirima's past and his plans, when he became the 1st surgeon to complete a surgery using the Batista technique.
Love & Hates:
There are quite a few japanese med-dramas dealing with the uni hospital problems etc..and it always showed the darkness and ugly truth in these hospitals...one classic example is "The Great White Tower". This drama touched more on Ryutaro trying to form a best team for the Batista surgery...and of coz..how he managed to save the lives using his unique methods. Plot was quite fast paced with a new case every epi.
Sakaguchi definitely impressed me with his performance...at least he cld proved htat he cld lead a drama. Though he's quite expressionless most of the time...I think he pulled off quite well as Asada. Most of u cant remember Inamori ba..but then if i tell u she's the gd pal of the female lead in "Long Vacation"..perhaps u wld sort of rmb her. Nv seen such a serious Inamori before...I loved her performance here...how she broke down when she knew Kirima betrayed her and how she decided to move on with her inital aim to become a professor. The other cast gave a gd performance too...Koike looked a little weird...like "a kid doctor" becoz' of his looks. Kitamura...as usual..acting as a baddie la...but with a sad past.
OST is nice...nice instrumentals and there's an eng insert song which was beautifully sung..
Worth watching?
Wld reco to j drama fans la..but then it may be boring to many of u as well. Well, Iryu 2 is coming this autumn...and most of the cast will be back in action. Definitely won't miss it!

Went to sch today for MICP lect la. Heard from pals that Desmond Koh, Fiona Xie & Ben were in sch for the "Xiao Hua Xiao Cao" prog. Hahaha...too bad they didn't saw Ann ah~ Aiyoyo!
Anyway, Nageb was LATE for lect! Ha...sianz...only he cld suan ppl for coming late, but nobody cld suan him! He went thru the syllabus with us...contents are very close to us, about world economy, globalisation and stuffs. It's easy for us to relate, butta there are tons of theories. Ha! Well, his lessons were entertaining as usual. Will expect him to pin-point on ppl soon la~ Lolz!

Some stuffs happened recently and not-so-recently. Heard 2 big news in a single night. Don't know should be happy or worried for one. And, dunno how's the other one feeling now. Haiz...I guessed this is life. In the past, i have never been worried about my pals, but now as we are getting older, things changed. Many things are unforseen, and we don't know what will happen in the future. What can I do? Honestly, I felt helpless. The feeling of helplessness is making me uncomfortable. Should i be worried, angry or happy? Or may be i should just keep quiet and see what will happen. I am not good with words....helpless.

Well, shall touched on a little on my lects yday & tdy.
ISORG seemed rather boring, Jack Koh's lecture style was boring too, though he tried to add some humour la. Saw the mini-project...sianz. I really dun wan to work with some strangers sia. Haiz....Anyway, though Jack kept saying abt very few ppl wld fail this unit, the stuffs are really quite dry in content. Hopefully i can make it. Ha!
ESAP lecturer Francies is my first Ang Moh lecturer eh! Haha...enjoyed her way of speaking English. Lolz...anyway, ESAP will be kinda like PSOC for a start la...hate those research methods. Hopefully it will become more interesting la. Hehe!

Super strong and long earthquake sia...lucky didnt felt giddy. Anyway, just checked the net..our dear neighbour Sumatra had a 7.9 earthquake...got tsunami alert sia.
Haiz..worried sia. Recently, SG cld feel the earthquake vibrations from Indonesia, and it's like whole SG sia. Well, really wonder what's gg on with our dear Earth....don't shake until my doorstep. Lolz!

Hmm...so I had my OTIA lect by Mr Sunny Goh. Initially, thought he's that kind of lecturer who cant joke (he looked quite stern leh..lolz!) But ended up, he's quite a joker, lost to Nageb though. OTIA's seemed to be demanding, covering economics, sociology & psychology aspects...ah and a little management stuffs.

Went to this restaurant for lunch. Hmm...I would say the cuisine offered here is kinda a mix of east & west. Though the choice is a little limited, the food was quite delicious! The restaurant also has a list of Mocktails, which do not contain any alcohol. Reco to u guys!
My stired fried seafood noodle. Actually it's a pasta with olive oil la. Forgot the name for that noodle though. Smells very nice...but too much olive oil la.
HM & SC's creamy curry with grilled chicken. The curry was yummy!
CH's seared chicken with soya sauce. Looked yummy too! CH said the chicken was crispy wor~

Well, Ah Ching finally went to watch a cartoon in the theatre. Lolz...haha! Ok la, this movie was really fun! Worth my money la. Liked the short film with the 2 monsters in the UFO..hahaha! That's super lame! Though I wonder if that's part of the movie...
Anyway, the rat Remy was really cute, love the scenes b/w Remy and Linguini, plus the scene when all the rats were helping out in the kitchen! Strongly reco this movie to u guys! Don't miss it!

Shiraishi Suzuko is a beautiful and strong-minded female Italian pasta chef. She broke up with her boyfriend sometime ago, but still could not totally forget him. One day, her niece told her that she would meet her rightful guy in a worst situation, but Suzuko didn't really take it to heart. Katsuragi Haruki is secretly in love with Saori, his late brother's girlfriend. However, Saori later dates another guy, and treats Haruki like her little brother. Suzuko and Haruki had arguments when they 1st met. Later, Haruki's company decided to take over the Italian restaurant which Suzuko is working at. Suzuko decides to protect her restaurant....
Love & Hates:
Sometimes, a typical romance drama with a old-fashioned plot turns out to be quite interesting. Why? Coz' u wld be curious to know how the 2 leads would fall in love. Haha...
Hasegawa does looked a little old besides the childish-faced Koike...but I think their chemistry is still quite good. Hasegawa looked classy when she wore a gown...but her usual image looked a little "auntie" to me la. Haha...Koike looked so different from his other role in "Nodame"...haha!
Saeko..cant stand her in "Hotelier"..and i still can't stand her here...her image and voice really don't match. Like a little girl keep bothering Koike's character..super fan. Lolz...The other cast are alright...nothing too spectacular.
Worth watching?
Wld reco to those who like romance dramas..u won't feel bored la..though u can expect what to happen next and what wld happen in the end.

Firstly, wanna congrat those who did well for exams la. Unfortunately, I am not one of them. Actually it turned out to be what i had expected, but surprisingly i cleared stats 1. (dunno how...). Well, the bad news is that I can't clear my final yr by 2008. Good news is...or i supposed it's some sort of gd news, I can try to do better for my units again. Haha, maybe u think i am trying to console myself, but think again, it's the fact.
Well, further units wld affect our honours classification. If i passed all but borderline case, that means it will be a high chance i wld get a 3rd class or just a pass degree. Furthermore, u can only re-sit for a paper u've failed...
I think it's a challenge for me ba....this yr's units are tougher than yr 2. Seriously, I really wonder if i can clear all of them by next yr.
Lastly, to my pals, thanks for ya concern. I am fine.....though I had been moody for days. Lolz!

TV Drama Review #93 - The Mute Bride 哑巴新娘

What's it abt?
When she was 10, Jing Yun saw a saddening scene which caused her to be unable to speak. 8 yrs later, to repay debts, Jing Yun married into the Zhou family. Just as everyone thought her husband was the handsome 2nd son of the Zhou family, Shao Bai, it turned out that her real husband was Bai's sick brother Shao Pu. Pu, who was a kind-hearted man, knew that he only had 8 more months to live. He loved Yun dearly, but did not want Yun to suffer. Thus, he used cruel methods to torture Yun, in order to let her leave the house. However, Yun knew about Pu's intentions, thus, she managed to endure all his cruelty and hoped that she could stay with Pu forever. Things didnt went easy for Yun. Though she gained trust from her mother-in-law, the boys' cousin Xiang Jun was deeply jealous of her, and with the help of a secretive businessman Zhao, she created chaos for Yun and caused Yun to land in troubles. Soon, Yun found out the big secret behind her family's tragedy, which was linked to the Zhou's and the businessman.
Love & Hates:
Haha..can't imagine I watch such a drama right? Super traditional "Qiong-Yao style" Chinese drama with 3 Taiwanese leads. Anyway, this drama is the 2nd series of a drama theme known as "China's Daughter-in-laws". Basically, there are 5 dramas altogether, showing women in different eras and situations. Plot was super standard..u can guess what will happened and what will be the ending. But then, I was curious how Pu would interact with Yun. Besides the couple, I basically didn't quite like the other characters except for Bai and Yun's sister.
I bet many ppl would know Sun Peng la..if u got watched his talk show "Guo Guang Bang Bang Mang". His acting was not bad lo...Full of expressions, especially when he tried to hide his feelings for Yun.
Yue Ling, famous for her roles for Qiong Yao dramas did a great job this time. Basically, she brought Yun to life la. Her chemistry with Xie Zu Wu was superb...kinda sizzling ya. Mr Xie gave a gd performance as the sick Shao Pu. It's quite hard for him to act those scenes when Pu kept suffering from his illness. And poor him gotta look so sickly from 1st to last epi...(think the white makeup really did a gd job..lolz). Or else, Mr Xie wld look way better than this. Hahaha!
Well...the main problem with such "Qiong-Yao style" dramas was the dialouges..super mushy. Haha! Btw, this is not a Qiong Yao drama ah...like what i stressed earlier on..just the style is kinda similar.
Worth watching?
Not too bad...if you can stand the rather mushy dialouges..haha! I think it's quite a touching drama.

--What's up this month--
Ah Ching's slacker's life will end by this week. Read my pal's blog, she's planning for a backpack trip next yr. Kinda envy her la, though I am not keen to do that. Lolz...hahaha! Wait till I am rich. Well, I hate the start of sch, coz' that means I am closer to exams next yr, which will come bloody fast. Terrible! What's more, this yr's units are nearly all theory-based. OMG! Read until siao lo...(plus I don't know still got how many units for retake...haiz!)
Next, Tuan's leaving for Hangzhou this fri midnight, which means we gotta send her off on Thurs's night. That also means, I only have 3 more days with her.
Having my Dharma test this end of month, quite confident to score for most of the parts except the last section. (My weakest part is to memorise the stuffs...and vomit them out. Haiz! Brain memory getting smaller each yr.)
And of coz, gotta learn driving lo...not quite satisfied with myself. Haiz...nvm!

Had my lunch at one of the Pasta stalls near Aji Tei. Forgot to take note of the name...anyway, i wld recommend it to u guys. Their pastas were a little different in terms of combinations la.

Went to the Giodarno new boutique @ Wisma, but nothing new to offer la. What a waste of the 40% discount. Then we walked over to OG, E.W wanna exchanged her accumulated points. OG was crowded tdy, perhaps many ppl wanna change their new OG card...that means u gotta spent money lo. Ha!
I bought a Lawman Jeans' tee and a G2blu top. Love the material of the G2blu top lo! Haha.
Tuan bought herself a tight-skirt la...but she couldn't find any nice pants to bring to China.
--PS--
Walked over to PS then..passed by Istana. Saw soldiers training for the exchange of guards ceremony. Wah..there are even signboards to tell u the time and pics of the guards. Kinda reminded me of "Zhong Lie Ci" in Taipei. Anyway, I am curious how the ceremony looks like. May be a new attraction for tourists sia?
Tuan was hunting for a pair of shoes too...finally she bought one nice pair of sandals at Everbest. I seriously think this shop has some nice shoes sia, though it's not cheap. Service was good compared to some other shops la..lolz!
--Aftermath--
Was kinda tired carrying all the stuffs back home...including those exchanged items. Heavy sia! Saw the campfire at the field opp my house...haha! Too bad it started raining, or else there wld be more ppl sia.
