Ala @ Shanghai Day 1

--Airport & MU--
Reached airport at ard 10 plus. Tuan's friends were there to send her off while E.W and I were queueing up to check in (super long queue). Luckily, we managed to get good seats just behind the business class. Hoho!
12.55am..boarded MU544 to Shanghai. The journey was about 5 hours...couldnt do much except sleeping. Their radio programme was boring, lucky i got bring my mp3. I already have no expectations on their food or what so ever. My dinner was exactly the same like the one I had when i travelled to Yunnan (Noodles with siew mai..). Very few Sgporeans on board, nearly all Chinese nationals...the way they slept on plane was "interesting". Suay kia Ah Ching kena migraine again...this time round i cld feel two sharp pains near my upper neck area...i cld feel the pain shooting up to mid-brain area, but lucky it's not like last time when i was in Cathay (the pain really shot up to the top of ur brain leh)..It's really painful, and I didn't feel well afterwards. Haiz...
Sun started to rise at 4am plus.
--Charms Hotel 中福大酒店--
Reached Pudong Int'l Airport at 6am. Tuan went to T2 to wait for her senior who took SQ while we went to our hotel at Puxi. The location of the hotel is quite good. It's at the heart of the downtown in Shanghai (Huangpu district). Walked down i can go to Raffles city, and their "Orchard rd", East Nanjing rd was just on the next street. It's also very near to places such as People's Square, Fuzhou rd, Xin Tian Di and Yuyuan.
Sometimes it's good to have a triple bed...check out my room. I am the "ting zhang" for 4 days...lolz! Our room was larger than the normal rooms la..
E.W & Aunt Jo's beds...
View from my hotel 1: That's CapitaLand on the background..
View from my hotel 2.
The little small corner beside my bed.
--People's Square 人民广场 & West Nanjing Rd 南京西路--
Lots of old buildings beside Renmin Sq. Check'em out!

A memorial site..
Memorial site 2.

Park Hotel.
Skyscraper..a common scene in Shanghai.
Huanghe road food street. Their food streets are actually rows of restaurants, not night mkts. Didn't really venture the place though.
J.W Marriot Hotel.
Entrance to People's Park.
The Radisson Hotel looks really good at night. I think the "round saucer" is their restaurant la. One of the landmarks just beside People's Sq. Beside it is "Shanghai New World".

CapitaLand & Raffles City. Shanghai's Raffles City is larger than ours ba...alot of stores cld be found in SG. There's Prima Taste & Banana Leaf wor. Their Giordano Concept store's clothes seemed more ex than ours leh. One jacket cost more than a hundred bucks! Had meals at Food Republic and dessert at Tang Chao. Tang Chao's drinks were cheap, but small in size..ha!
Moore Church. I think it's either closed down or some renovation works going on. It's a pretty old church la.
Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall 1
Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall 2
The Shanghai Museum in the background. Will show your the building once again in my Day 5 entry.
--Fuzhou Rd 福州路--
This road's well-known for bookstores & food. "Shanghai Book City" has their biggest bookstore here (7 storeys wor!) Also, the "foreign bk store", which has more imported books is also nearby. There are many small shops doing photocopying, binding and stuffs.
Btw, if you wanna buy books back, or any others things, do bring your own shopping bags or plastic bags to carry them. And it's the same for the entire China. But don't worry..u can still buy shopping bags in bigger stores la. Or if nt, get a bigger bag. Lolz!
Yifu Wu Tai...I think it's rather famous for staging operas.
Passed by their Huangpu district Lib..kinda rundown.
A street scene in Shanghai.
"MomoChacha"??? Sounds familiar? A SG themed restaurant..no chance to try their food leh.
Wu Gong hotel with old-styled exterior design.
--East Nanjing Rd 南京东路--
The shopping mall opp my hotel..Yong An Department stall which is 90 yrs old lo! Rather up-mkt sia. More night shots at later entries. Btw, u will notice that there were many wires & cables on the streets. Shanghai still has buses moving with cables (dian che). Kinda like those in HK island, but they're single decked.
The front view of Charms Hotel.
--Fudan University 复旦大学--
Went to visit Tuan's hostel after she has settled down and completed her registration stuffs. Fudan is located at Yangpu district (though most guidebooks wld tell u it's at Hongkou district.)We took a taxi which costed abt 40rmb (8sgd). Their starting prx is 11rmb (2.2sgd). Not really ex, but their driving sux to the max. If u think SG taxi drivers are horrible, go try Shanghai ones. Hah. Most of their taxi drivers don't wear the seatbelt..and u can follow the same too! Lolz! They just cut lanes in front of other vehicles...their traffic is really terrible sia. If you wanna cross the road, have to give way to vehicles who are right-turning..they won't stop for u like what we do here hor! So kns!
The tallest building around the area, Fudan's hostel for foreign students. Flooded with Koreans, Japanese, Indians & Westerners. Saw some Africans too. Tuan lives on the 20th floor, hope the lifts wont break down. Lolz!
View from her room 1.
View from her room 2. Opp is Tongji Uni's campus.
--Wujiaochang Walmart--
Went to the nearby Walmart to buy daily necessities for Tuan. I've never seen E.W spent so much on daily necessities in one go! Hahaha! The big trolley was not enough to put everything sia! E.W spent ard 650rmb (132sgd)on the stuffs. Now then I know we cld buy so much with that amt...imagine how much can we buy here la? Amazed lo. China's stuffs are bloody cheap. Lolz!
Had dinner at "Lanzhou La Mian", a little restaurant ard her sch area, and it's opened by a muslim family. (Quite alot of muslim restaurants in Shanghai ne~). One big bowl of beef noodles only costed 6rmb! That's abt 1sgd lo! Really cheap & what's more? It's delicious!
Cleaned up her room and stayed till 8 plus. Tired was the only word i cld say when i returned to our room. My waist was aching lo...so lousy right?

Comex IT Fair

--Suntec Convention Hall--
Reached the place b4 12pm...already flooded with ppl. Many big brands having more than 2 booths. Walked passed Samsung mp3 and saw their offers! OMG! Really sianz...some models can get another set free lo...and they are way below 200 bucks! Haiz....
Walked around to see the lappies available, but looks like only Dell Inspiron caught our eyes la. Would be buying for Tuan at a later date.
Walked passed Panasonic booth...their lumix fx 36 already overtaken by the new fx38, 5x zoom while i think the other features remained somewhat the same. The salesman's attitude was like if u dun buy now then later u come back cannot enjoy further discount. diaoz~ He's boasting abt Pana's IA mode which other brands dun have...but Fujifilm just came out with the similar thing with their F60fd. Ha!
So, walked over to Fujifilm which was next door...tried out their F100fd...I thought F60fd was good too, butta it lacked the wide angles. So...I got my F100fd for 489 bucks. Kinda same prx like the Pana f38 la.
Went up to 6th floor and bought Prolink's webcam and cordless mouse.
Mission completed.....left Tuan's lappie.

P.S: Prolink cordless mouse kinda fautly, the base loosen sia. Suay!

Caustic's brother Bao Bao is very shy & timid and stays at home most of the time. He gets to know Hui Ru after a misunderstanding and starts to fall for her. However, Hui Ru is only interested in Caustic...
Slacker's review:
A typical tvb drama with an environmental friendly theme. It's gd to raise environmental awareness in a drama, but sometimes it seemed to be kinda over, or unrealistic. That's why I did find Nat Tong's Ru kinda annoying at times. Idealistic ppl can be quite annoying..haha!
The storyline was quite alright...it may seemed plain but it's quite interesting. I like to see how Stella and Caustic bickered, but I didn't like scenes b/w Stella's sis and sis-in-law..very noisy ah! Chris Lai's acting was quite gd here...he portrayed the shy Bao Bao very well. Sunny Chan is as usual la...the super nice guy. I like Christine Ng's image! She's super chio with make up and branded clothes. Hahaha! Actually Sunny & Christ made a gd couple sia...gd chemistry.
Themesong "Ping Fan" by Leo Ku...need to listen a few times before u start liking it.
Wld recommend to TVB fans...perhaps we can put a little effort to save our earth.

TV Drama Review #146 - When It's at Night 每天夜晚

No.of Epis: 17
Year/TV Station: 2008/MBC
Cast:
Kim Sun Ah ~ Heo Cho Hee
Lee Dong Gun ~ Kim Bum Sang
Kim Jung Hwa ~ Wang Joo Hyun
Lee Joo Hyun ~ Kang Shi Wan
Park Ki Woong ~ Heo Kyoon
Synopsis:
Kim Bum Sang is an art scholar who detects forgeries and restores original art pieces. He does not get along with Heo Cho Hee, who is an inspector working for the Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea. Bum Sang happened to join the Cultural Heritage Administration and have to work with Cho Hee to solve the cases of stolen cultural artifects. Initially, Cho Hee likes Inspector Kang while Wang Joo Hyun, who's Cho Hee's colleage likes Bum Sang. However, Bum Sang starts to fall for Cho Hee while Cho Hee isn't very sure of her feelings. Just then, several stolen artifacts are returned to the museum, and Cho Hee suspects that her father could be the person behind it. Things got complicated as some other people are also hunting for the treasures while the real person who returns the treasures happens to be...
Slacker's review:
Anticipated KSA's comeback after 3 yrs, but this drama didn't push KSA's career to a new height. Disappointed? A little. Maybe the storyline cld have been better, it somehow seemed plain with the usual cases and there's little excitement. On the official website, KSA's character Cho Hee was mentioned to have natural borned sexiness in her and blah blah...Don't expect that in the drama. Cho Hee was only sexy in her black gown in one of the eps. What a waste?! They cld have made Cho Hee a really sexy lady if they let her wear nicer clothes, and have a better hairstyle. Butta, thank goodness KSA's acting and chemistry with LDG were gd enough to make me continue watching. Honestly, the theme of WIAN is kinda boring. Lots of dealings with stolen artifects and the baddies. I am only interested to see Bum Sang & Cho Hee..hahaha! Quite an interesting pair...a playboy and a rather serious woman. LDG looked tired at times, but still gave a gd performance. Many of a times, Cho Hee kept reminded me of Sam Soon...that's not really gd for KSA, she needs to jump out from Sam Soon's image. There are quite a few memorable scenes b/w Cho Hee & Bum Sang, esp when they were in Japan. Super funny! Love the stolen kisses and hugs scenes too.
KJH was not the 1st choice for her role, but i think she did well la. I don't have much comments abt Joo Hyun since her main purpose here was to provide comedy relief..and Cho Hee's love rival. I hope to see KJH lead a drama next time...she shldn't be a 2nd fiddle anymore! Lee Joo Hyun's TL Kang was alright, nothing too spectacular from him.
OST was alright...the themesong is quite a cheerful one. Sub theme by SG Wannabe is nice too.
Overall, it's still a watchable kdrama and if u're a fan of KSA & LDG, don't miss it!

Murder of the Inugami Clan

--AMK Hub--
Decided to catch this movie since I like the "Kindaichi-style" of solving mystery cases. Well, this is a 2006 movie starring Matsushima Nanako. Perhaps i should mention Fukada Kyoko as well, though she only played a minor role here. The detective here - Kindaichi Kousuke, is the grandfather of Kindaichi Hajime ( the young detective we know from japanese dramas). Though this is a 06 film, the movie backdrop and setting were rather old-styled. Very old fashioned...but don't worry, the pace and the storyline were very good. There's a similar movie filmed by the same director Ichikawa Kon in 1976, but i think there's some diff in the storyline.
Well, the movie was very straightforward, i could finally guess the murderer after Sukekiyo was killed. But of coz, we also wld know that the real Sukekiyo was hiding somewhere.
The only part which i didn't like was the fake blood. Fresh red colour, kinda like red paint....haha!
The actor Onoe Kikunosuke, who acted as Shizuma looked really digusting with the makeup as Shizuma had a scarred face, however, he happened to be the same fella who acted as the real Sukekiyo. What a difference! Ha...he's a kabuki actor, no wonder la..he just looked different from normal actors.
My 2 hrs and 16 mins was worthwhile...nice movie! If you used to be a Kindaichi fan, shld give this movie a try.

Was browsing through the SIM thread when somebody mentioned that Nageb said from this yr onwards UOL degree cert won't have the word "external". Hmm....I don't think that would make any difference though...but without that word is nicer la. Ha!

TV Drama Review #145 - The Family Link 师奶兵团

How long? 21 epis
When & which tv stn? 2007/TVB
Who's in?
Sheren Tang ~ Meng Jia Jia
Michael Tse ~ Joe Fang Yan Zu
Cecilia Yip ~ Hilary Ding Mei Xiang
Derek Kwok ~ Bill Zhuo Jin Biao
Kiki Sheung ~ Cao Mei Er
John Chiang ~ Gao Yong Quan
Kenneth Ma ~ Gan Cheng Jun
Leila Tong ~ Shu Xiao Man
Fala Chen ~ Angela
What's it abt?
Jia Jia, Hilary & Mei Er are 3 good friends who stay at the public housing estate. Jia Jia & Hilary used to compete with each other since sec sch days, and their competiton continues as they fight for the position of the parent committee. Gao sir's sis-in-law Xiao Man returns from the States, and wants to find out about her best friend Yoyo's death. Xiao Man suspects that the 3 housewives are the culprits who indirectly caused Yoyo to commit suicide, and decides to make them speak the truth and creates many problems. Cheng Jun, Yoyo's husband keep speaking good words for the housewives, and later, he and Xiao Man fall for each other.
The 3 friends soon had marriage woes themselves. Jia finds out that her husband Joe likes to cross-dress as woman; Hilary finds out that her husband Bill is close with his boss Angela; Er's husband runs away from home to escape from loansharks, but he keeps a mistress when he's hiding in China.
The housewives of the estate later come up with a co-op to sell things in the neighbourhood. As they face poor business, Xiao Man comes up with an idea for them to take nude pics to promo their co-op. On the other hand, Xiao Man is worried that her missing brother might have been dead, and together with the 3 friends, they find out that the murderer is....
Love & Hates:
Plot-This drama is not purely about the housewives. From the start, they had put in the mystery of Yoyo's death to add the suspense factor. So actually i was quite curious who's the murderer, though it's quite obvious la. Hahaha! But just as you thought xxx is the fella, the last epi gave one last twist to the truth. That was an unexpected twist. Nice one. Haha!
The storyline was rather standard, we all know that the 3 friends would have their own problems with their hubbies, but what was interesting was what caused their marriages to nearly break. For example, Joe cross-dress as woman and danced with his "Super 4" in the club and Hilary kena VD from Bill. I gotta admit the "Super 4" performances are rathering "challenging" as not many ppl cld accept such a concept. Overall, the plot is not too bad, though I didn't like the scenes with the rich and poor housewives competing each time. Personally i thought that this drama wanna glorified housewives la, but i think some situations were not that realistic. Ending epi is as rush as usual....not much kick.
Cast-Thumbs up...I think all of them did pretty well. Sheren and Michael's chemistry were not too bad, glad to see them as a couple after "La Femme Desperado". I thought Michael's performance was bloody good in the cross-dressing scenes. He really looked feminine leh! Sheren's acting was the best when Jia suffers from anxiety problems.
Cecilia Yip's acting was not bad, though i was rather irritated by her character Hilary. Hilary always wanted to return to rich tai-tai status, but finally she had found out what's more impt.
Kiki Sheung... I wanna scold Er stupid as she's afraid of her hubby's mistress..really wanna give that mistress a tight slap. Haha!
Kenneth Ma is not a main character here, but his acting was pretty good, with a good switch from a super nice guy to a man with hidden secrets. I disliked Leila's Xiao Man until she finally become friendly to the housewives. Haha..nice chemistry with Kenneth...and i like their ending.
I was watching "Heart of Greed" at the same time, so I couldnt adjust to Fala's hussy image in this drama...well she really looks different with more make up and nicer dresses.
Themesong- "Ban Bian Tian" by Miriam Yeung. Nice song!
Worth watching?
Wld reco to TVB fans...a light-hearted housewives drama with a littie touch of suspense.

Happy Birthday Singapore!

--Beijing Olympics--
Well, I bet many ppl didn't expect the opening yday to be so spectacular and creative. Bird Nest really lived up its name ah..haha! Besides the great and grand performances directed by Zhang Yi Mou, the fireworks, and the lighting up of flame were damn good.
Ha...my parents were amazed to see so many "unknown" countries...and waited for SG to show up...188th sia. I was watching my dramas then...but managed to catch SG in action..hehe!
Come to think of it...I am wondering how the opening of the Youth Olympics wld be....ha!
--NDP--
Alright, the annual must-watch parade is back again! I'm wondering how many of you wld watch it faithfully every year ne? Perhaps i should go and watch it live some day..

TV Drama Review #144 - Heart of Greed 溏心风暴

How long? 40 epis
When & which tv stn? 2007/TVB
Who's in?
Lee Sze Ki ~ Ling Qiao/Da Ma
Ha Yu ~ Tang Ren Jia/Da Bao/Bao Bao
Susanna Kwan ~ Francis Wang Xiu Qin/Xiao Ma
Moses Chan ~ Tang Zhi An/Pretty Ok/Xiao Bao
Bosco Wong ~ Gilbert Tang Zhi Yi/Jiao Jiao
Chris Lai ~ Tang Zhi Huan
Fala Chen ~ Tang Zhi Xin
Raymond Lam ~ Alfred Cheng Liang
Linda Chung ~ Chang Zai Xin
Yoyo Mung ~ Shui Ming Xia/Shui Bai Bai
Tavia Yeung ~ Jackie Zhuo Wen Li
Michelle Yim ~ Ling Li
Louis Yuen ~ Ling Bo
What's it abt? (edited from Wikipedia)
Tang Ren Jia owns a seafood products store,Tang Ji. He has 4 children; An,Yi,Huan,Xin. He is married to Qiao and has a second wife Qin. Qiao has cancer and didn't expect to survive and wants Qin to take care of Tang Ren Jia after she dies. However, Qiao recovers and Qin thinks that she has no power in the family because she has no true status and becomes a woman stirring a range of petty acts. She seeks the family fortune and in order to do that she causes trouble in the family.
An has a liking for Zai Xin, who's a legal clerk working in a law firm. However, she only has eyes on Alfred, who's her senior and a successful lawyer. Things went wrong b/w Zai Xin & Alfred after Shui Bai Bai became the 3rd party.
Yi is the most educated children in the family, after returning from the States, he plans to start his own business and met Jackie, who's wife of a rich man. After facing many hurdles, both of them finally got married, but Jackie's family are very greedy and keeps wanting the Tang Household to give them money.
Huan, who's Qin's only son just graduated from Uni. He's a kind hearted boy and is very closed to his other siblings. However, after Qin did so many evil acts, he starts losing faith in his mum and is stuck b/w Qin & the Tang Household.
Xin, the youngest of the children, had 3 gd pals, Zai Xin, Shui Bai Bai & Cao Bing. An innocent girl who's the candy of the family.
Later, Qiao's cancer comes back and she dies leaving her struggling family behind.
Qin starts planning evil ideas with Zai Xin's brother Chang Zai De after Qiao passed away. They have been plotting for years to find a means to take the family fortune and even create false accusations about her own family to the media. Qin forms her own support group from Bo and Jackie's family to help plot against the Tang household to gain their family fortune. She drove Tang Ren Jia into severe illness and eventually die from stroke.
The two sides begin their war on each other on court, with Zai Xin representing the Tang Household.
Love & Hates:
Plot-Actually the plot is very typical..HK-styled family drama. However, what makes it interesting is how Wang Xiu Qin turns the Tang Household into chaos. I was cursing & swearing at her from the day she start doing evil acts. Hahahha! Oh ya...Ling Bo and Jackie's family are really horrible too. Without them, this drama wld be too boring la. So, good job to the scriptwriter. Hahaha! Alfred & Zai Xin' take up the biggest part of all romance scenes. I didn't like them quarrelling too often though. Ending was a little shocking for me, coz I didn't expect An & Xin to be together. (Oh! Spoilers!!) Anyway, i am glad tt An is not alone la.
Cast-Thumbs up to the cast!! Oh my....almost perfect. The veterans are really damn good. Xia Yu is really such a cute & funny daddy. Even though he kena stroke in the end, he still has the energy to make Wang Xiu Qin so mad! Shiok!!! Lee Sze Ki is perfect for her role..she has the wei yan, and knows when to be soft and when to be tough. Susanna! Her role is really irritating, but good acting sia. Hen zhi ru gu...haha!
Now I know why Moses outbeat Xia Yu to get the best actor award...Pretty Ok is one of his best roles. No more handsome guy liao. Pretty ok doesnt wear nice clothes, he's super lame but can be dead serious. I loved his scenes with Da Bao. I like how he always stand by Zai Xin's side when she needs help. (How i wish i cld have such a loyal friend...very hard hor.)
Linda is pretty good too....though I didn't like her crying too often la. Her "getting suspicious" expressions were pretty good ne...getting on my nerves. But i can understand that, she can't fully trust Alfred mah.
Raymond isn't the main lead in this drama, but actually I thought his scenes were more than Bosco? Ha! Raymond didnt disappoint me in his acting, but he looked really tired or haggard leh. Where's the handsome fella? Well, I already know that Alfred wld urhem in the drama..but it's still sad to know that la. Nice chemistry with Linda too.
The others, Bosco, Chris, Fala, Tavia...are pretty ok..but nothing new from them. I didn't like Tavia's character initially, but glad that she has changed for the better.
I don't know why Yoyo wanna act as Shui Bai Bai...she's gd, but given her positon now, she won't have to act in such a minor character.
Themesongs- Opening theme "Jiang bu chu sheng" by Susanna...this song can speak for Qin. Ending theme "Xin Ling" by Raymond & Linda. Love this song!
Worth watching?
A must-watch for all tvb fans. Sister drama "Moonlight Resonance" has start airing in HK liao. Do check it out.

Dilemma

--Digi Cam--
Need some help from you guys...though i think nobody knows much abt them too. Hahahah!
I'm gg to buy a new digi cam la. Basically I was quite sure of getting Fujifilm Finepix F100fd. But the other day when i was at BEST, the salesman told me that Panasonic Lumix FX 36 is also good too. I am wondering why FX 36 is sold a cheaper price than F100fd..hahah!
Well, I am quite sure about F100fd's night shot capabilities, but FX36 has an amazing 25 mm wide angle..I am not too sure abt night shots though. (the salesman told me it can take nice night shots too...but i havent really see such a comment online..)
E.W and Mr.Chean thinks that Lumix is more reliable..it's lighter and smaller than Finepix..
But i am more inclined to get F100fd, since the ISO noise stuff is way better than Lumix.
How? How? How?

Mummy 3 Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

--Family Outing--
It's been quite sometime since my whole family went for a movie together. Finally Mr.Chean is willing to go orchard...lolz! Well, nothing seemed to be "smooth" today. Food wasn't great at Nihon Mura. Mr.Chean complained that their food was too salty. I was wondering why the standard of food was so different from my last visit.. (it's like one wk ago) Haiz...
--Mummy 3--
So, after reading the reviews, I know that this movie is pretty average, so watch it purely for entertainment. The 3rd instalment didn't maintain the standard of the previous 2 series. Storyline sucks...especially with the China element. It's pretty a waste to have Jet Li & Michelle Yeoh in this kind of movie. Michelle's english was way better than her mandarin. Isabella was alright, but her english didn't sound comfortable to me. Jet spoke in mandarin, but then when the emperor was cursed, I couldnt hear what he was trying to say to Anthony Wong. (Totally relied on the chinese subs...)
Brendan is goofy as usual, but lack chemistry with his "new" wife this time. (The original actress was replaced). The new actress just looked too old for Brendan. What's more? The emperor was just too easy to be killed. Haha! Hey u guys belittled Chinese emperor ah? Just wanna tell the director, if u don't know how to film a real spectacular scene with Chinese armies, go watch "Chi Bi". Haha! Luckily I didn't spend 10.50 bucks on this....wait for it to be shown on TV ba.

What's it abt? (edited from Dramawiki)
The story begins with the deaths of the ruling party's Fukuoka legislator and his eldest son, who is his heir apparent in an accident. It is decided that a by-election will be held, and Kanbayashi, the leader of the ruling party, and secretary Miyama Rika conceive the idea of fielding the second son, Asakura Keita, who had been renounced by his father.
After Keita graduated from senior high school, he went on to a university in Nagano because he wanted to live in a place with beautiful stars, and eventually became an elementary school teacher over there. Well-liked by children and satisfied with his beloved star gazing, Keita has no interest in the world of politics. However, Rika's persuasion and the pressure from his family, he reluctantly decides to announce his candidacy.
Upon returning to Fukuoka, Keita is given a hearty welcome by supporters. The election strategist, Nirasawa Katsutoshi, arrives. He is guided by the notion "election is the only permitted legal war" and begins Keita's election campaign.
Finally, Keita won the elections and becomes the prime minister. However, unknown to him and Rika, Kanbayashi has planned something to become the prime minister himself.
Love & Hates:
Plot-It's Kimutaku again! I really like his previous drama "Karei naru Ichizoku". I like his change in characters. Well he didnt disappoint me in "Change" la. Basically "Change"'s storyline was not very interesting or addictive. Politics tend to be boring, as we know that some ppl are gg to plot evil stuffs la. The drama is rather serious, and honestly, sort of simplified the political world in real life. I mean, hey it's not tt easy to be a politician in Japan. Quite interesting to see how Keita and his teams worked through their difficulties, and how the love b/w Keita and Rika blossomed. Not much on their romance, it's simple and light. But i really like scenes b/w them. The drama cld have been more interesting or more exciting if they add more "excitement" to it? I think it wld be better, coz it's rather boring somehow, sometimes.
Cast-Nice work from Kimura. I think he wanna act more mature and serious characters. He may not look convincing as the Prime minister of Jpn, but that's ok. He has the charisma. Keita is not a strong guy, he ran away from his problems at times, butta he wld always find some ways to get back to the problems. I do have comments abt his curly hairdo, even when he straightens it, they seemed retro on Kimura...Where's the handsome guy? Hahaha!
I havent watch the previous drama which starred both Kimura & Fukatsu. Chemistry wise...it's building up every epi. I am little sad that there's so little on their romance, but bo bian la..this is not a romance drama. Fukatsu looks old with her attire, but her acting was good. Especially when she's stuck b/w Keita & Kanbayashi.
Support cast Kato & Abe are pretty alright...their characters are pretty standard, supporters of Keita..not much development. But it's fun to see them living in Keita's hse. Nice interactions.
The scheming Kanbayashi by Terao was not too bad too...really felt like beating him up. How dare he made Keita his pupper ah?! Haha!
OST-Themesong "Miles Away" by Madonna. Kimura's dramas love using English themes. Nice song ah. OST also has lots of instrumentals..rather serious somehow. Ha!
Worth watching?
Definitely must-watch for Kimura fans! One of the nice dramas in 2008.
