Weekends @ Orchard Day 2 + Chinatown

--锦衣卫@ Cine--
It's another rare occasion when Mr.Chean wanted to watch a movie. After reading positive reviews of '14 Blades', my family & I went to watch it in the afternoon. I guessed even E.W, who was reluctant to watch it initially, enjoyed the movie. Haha!
The movie was jam-packed with actions for the whole 114 mins. Plot wise, it's simple but not weak. I liked how Daniel Lee balanced the action & romance factor in the movie. Donnie Yen & Zhao Wei had sizzling chemistry lo~! There were also some comedic scenes on & off, so it's hard to imagine anyone who would find this movie boring. Donnie Yen was damn bloody good as Qing Long. (However, his hairstyle reminded me of some sort of bandits...hahaha!) To be honest, Donnie is one action fella so I did not expect him to have too much expressions other than being cool. Ha! But don't know why, I just find Qing Long much more attractive than his previous roles. Hehe! Zhao Wei was great as well, but somehow her performance might be overshadowed by Kate Tsui. (I loved the scene when Qing Long told Qiao Hua to find her fiance...Zhao Wei's emotional scene was well controlled). Wu Chun was surprisingly good in his bandit outfit and his action scenes were well executed. The only thing I could not stand was his mandarin. Hahahah! (I think they should have dubbed his voice). Kate Tsui seemed to impress many people with her role, even Mr Chean & Aunt Jo thought she was great. True enough, I thought her Tuo Tuo was cool. Her action scenes were beautifully done, and the CG effect was great too. (You get to see her removing layers of her clothes one by one when she fought...) Last fighting scene with Donnie was impressive....but damn sad la~ As for Qi Yu Wu, he's not that bad, but he only got 1 expression throughout the movie. Xuan Wu was probably the most kns fella here, as he's one disloyal chap. He betrayed his brothers of Jin Yi Wei, he betrayed the Eunuch and worked for Prince Qing (cameo by Sammo Hung). In his last scene, he tried to 'act' ke lian in front of Qing Long, and the guy thought of letting him go. Too bad for Xuan Wu, 'backstabbing' your buddy is a wrong move. One last thing, it was so nice to see veteran Wu Ma again!
--Chinatown--
Went to the 年货市场, and it was super crowded. What's the 'in' thing besides TW mochi this year? It's 冬菇. Haha! Had our desserts at Wei Xiang Yuan before we walked around the place.
A bell hanging from the rooftop of Buddha Tooth Relic Temple.
Rows of lanterns hanging at the aisle of Buddha Tooth Relic Temple.
Pomelos~~~
Early CNY celebration....Lou Hei!!
Despite eating this, E.W still ordered a plate of Yu Sheng for us. Loved it!

Weekends @ Orchard Day 1

--Shopping--
Tuan & Ah Ching finally went shopping, of coz' with our 'advisor' E.W. Ah Ching was quite lucky today. Bought a nice belt from Uniqlo, and bought a pair of sneakers from Bershka. (That's my 2nd advanced birthday gift from Tuan & Aunt Jo.)
--Domani @ NAC--
It has been quite sometime since I last had my fav. spagh at Domani (previously known as Pasta Cafe). Thank goodness most of the menu remained the same!
E.W & my 'Lime Me Up' (with lime, orange & lemon). It was quite a sour drink..haha!
My all-time-favourite Sambal Seafood Marinara. The noodles was damn nice, and I loved the spiciness of the dish! Yummy~~~~~!
--Continue to shop--
Walked ard NAC, but nothing caught our eyes....
Saw this tiger outside Mandarin Gallery.
But I was more interested in the flowers beside it..haha!
--Continue to eat--
Walked over to 313 @ Somerset. Saw something nice at Mango, but the queue at the fitting room was damn long. Went up to Food Republic for my BBQ chicken wings. One chicken wing costed $1,50! Damn ex la. But well, it's nice~
--Continue to shop--
Walked over to Centrepoint. E.W was really smart. The Mango outlet @ CP was less crowded. Hehe! Bought two shirts la...quite happy to find something I liked :) But I spent quite a bit today. Lolz~ Poor Tuan still could not find anything nice....
Walked over to PS, had our dinner at the foodcourt. Beef Noodle was not delicious....
E.W bought a shirt from Springfield, and there's a 40% discount lo~ (Finally she bought something after her 2 daughters kept telling her to buy new clothes for weeks. Haha!)
Poor Tuan was still empty-handed by the time we reached Hg Mall. Haha! Finally, something caught her eye at one of the small shop (I think it's 'E-style'). The shirt looked nice, but the price is kinda 'shocking'....
--Tomorrow--
Will be back at Orchard with family to watch a movie. Hehe! :)

What a week~

--Work--
This week seemed to pass by very quickly. Ah Ching's workload has not gotten any lighter, but it's a good chance for me to be exposed to some other things. My only worry now is when can I finish them off..haha~!
Had lunch with Ch Ops gals & my 2 other colleagues from RBD. Did not know that one of them is leaving us, but I'm glad that she has found a job that she wants. It's good to know what you really want after working for sometime. (Ah Ching still quite clueless about her future...)
We had lunch at Mac, and someone called my full name loudly....It's long time no see Ann. Ha! Chatted a little while before we parted. The gal has not changed much though...lol!

Last weekend of January

--Saturday: Family BBQ--
We had our family BBQ gathering yday, and thanks KH & SC for coming. Hope you had enjoyed yourself. Ah Ching had eaten a lot yesterday, it was a yummy meal~!
--New Digi Cam--
Chiong down to Harvey Norman to buy a new cam for Tuan. Happened to flip through "Today" & saw Fujifilm's promotion. 150 bucks trade-in offer when I purchase their EXR series! Bloody damn cheap! I already read good reviews of their F70 EXR, so I did not hesitate & decided to grab it within a few days! (That's so not me~) Anyway, it so happens that Tuan is looking for a cam which is good at taking low-lighting shots. The best part is, I could use any type of cam to trade-in. Not sure if they really accept film cameras, I actually brought down 2 old Pentax cams plus my Nikon digi cam. The salesman said just pick any film cams will do, so I used the cheapest Pentax cam for trade-in. Damn worth it! Plus, we still got the freebies~ What's more? 4x chance of winning their lucky draw prizes, which are the Universal Studios tixs! Hehe!
Back to FX70 EXR, it is a lot better than my F100 fd, and the 10x zoom is bloody good. There are so many cool functions that I wanna play with...haha! But I think it's more impt to let Tuan know how to use them. Lolz~
--Sunday--
Finally, after n years, Tuan & I managed to have a meal with our dear friend WY. Haha! Brought her to our house to visit Mr. Momo, and I think the girls had fun chatting la. We should meet up more often...ha!
--CC Gang Gathering: KH & CH's advanced birthday celebration--
Went to Partyworld @ Int'l Building for karaoke session. Everything was fine until their system went haywire at 5p.m. Basically, their system kept getting stuck and we gotta wait awhile before accessing their song library. What a disappointment! I nearly lost my voice towards the end of our Karaoke session. CMI!
--Dinner--
Went to Ion & had our dinner at Imperial Treasure Noodle & Congee House. Basically the concept is similar to Crystal Jade Kitchen, and I think this restaurant's menu is considered cheapest among the Imperial Treasure restaurants. Haha!
My noodles with roasted duck & 油鸡. Their roasted meat was delicious, but fatty la! Haha! I loved their durian pudding!!!! (Forgot to take a pic...) One of the waitresses was really nice to us as she changed a new set of Pu'er tea leaves for us and told us to finish it before we go. It has been quite sometime since I last encountered such good service. Hehe!
Went back home...and managed to take a good shot of the moon with Tuan's F70 EXR. I used the EXR auto mode and the picture was really sharp!

January just ended...time passes too fast.
