our people our music 30/7/04

quite a long entry...
[yday] watched the concert lah...very nice...basically it was a celebration b4 the actual national day. VPM Mr Lee Hsien Loong was the GOH..nearly full house..got 1800+ musicians & 500 choir. very shiok. the best was i saw most of my pals & juniors there..haha! the lucky thing was my seat was beside the cello & bass section...ah so nice...and abit sad that i couldnt perform..haiz..oh ya! i saw my cello teacher mr poh..he was the vice-principal of cello section..haha! also there were many cchsm co instructors performing yday night.hehe!
basically all the songs were non-co songs ah...they were all sg national day themes..all those national day songs could be heard...some special songs include
"tempo majulah" by the percussion section...which include malay kampong, indian tablah (spelling wrong ba), western drums and chinese drums...spectacular! haha. "nocturnal peace" was string-sections' solo piece. "celebrations" was pluck-sections' solo piece. "night of electric winds" was the special piece only played by SCO members...very unique..especially the guzheng solo..haha! but personally i didnt like it tt much...the finale piece " our people our music" was the medley of sing singapore songs...very nice with the choir.
definitely, can see they could coordinate very well with each other...butta for me i think tt the atmosphere of the whole performance was abit so-so lah..coz the songs alone were not very powerful...CO songs are more powerful and can liven up the atmosphere in that sense. the concert was very short..abt 1.5hrs only...sobbz
[side stories] firstly was the trip to indoor stadium...nearly took me 45mins from douby goht to there..coz bus 16 changed route liao...made a big turn...
going back home was another headache....cant squeeze in the 1st bus...managed to get into the 2nd one after a long wait...haiz! could see that many pple were very selfish and really horrible. still got pple said got another bus at the back but tt person squeezed into the bus himself..kaoz do u need to lie? very kns eh!
secondly, got a surprise to see many malay people yday...it was like a whole grp sitting at the next block beside me...wow...they came as an organisation or sch like that...very happy to see them ah...racial harmony..haha! hope they knew more about our chinese music lah...hoho!
saw a big grp of cchsm students yday too...but my fren said she didnt saw any teachers whom we knew...sobz...those students were frm lower sec ba if i'm not wrong...anyway still glad to see them..
lastly, kinda funny to go out with my cousin...as i said in my last entry. haha! we talked abt alot of things..gosh she was fanatic abt "the bachelor"..diaoz and she really could talk alot during the whole performance while my sis and i kept quiet most of the time..haha!
[to my pals] for those who had missed the concert..nvm..though it was a rare chance to see so many pple performed in 1 stage. I hope all of you can see a real chinese orchestra concert to feel what i said abt the atmosphere and the power the songs and orchestra can create.

what is happening to me these few days?

[this week] very tired and very bored. no cca is one thing. got so many extra lessons are kinda the main reasons why i am feeling that way. cant be help i gotta go through all that. haiz. well, very busy with tests, homework and gp presentation. i really dislike having presentations with people who dont bother at all and who dun have initiative to even ask what is going on..guess whoever u like. i heard complains from my pals too...sorry pals i cant help u guys. gotta bear with it...or else look for mdm tan to wake them up.
[maths tuition] starting this sat 2 pm with pf & jw. i got plans for my this sat lesson liao..haiz gotta buck up man! my maths is deproving eh! sobz...
[friday] actually tml really sux coz i got econs drq test & maths test. also, i am going for PE. haiz but then at least there is something i am looking forward to tml...and that is...2004 "our people, our music singapore chinese orchestra national day concert" @ s'pore indoor stadium 8pm.
hooray it has been sometime since i last watched a CO concert. haha! i had attended 2 concerts this year and performed in 1 concert. now finally i can watch a big mega concert! hoho! really happy coz i missed the "2000 millemium CO concert"..so this time i must watch ah!
another thing is that this will be the 1st time, my sis and i will be going out with my cousin hui ling...dun be too shock abt that..really 1st time out ( 3 of us only)...last time we only went to chalets or dinners together..that's all...sian right? can see that i am not close to all my cousins. haha! poor relationship ah...sobz...cannot blame me lah! we dun stay close together and there is an age gap mah...as for hui ling leh? eh she is same age as me lah...and live in AMK lah (quite near my house)..butta i also dunno why we arent close leh?? haha!

[parent's session] really wanna complain to all of you...haiz...how can a teacher who knew that she is going to meet parents in less than 10 mins time, had her lunch and asked the parents to give her 10 more mins? kaoz might as well asked my mum to come late for it! really sian leh...
the whole session she only talked abt me speaking mandarin and not reading straits times..kaoz as if she is my gp tutor...kinda funny to see her smiling every second and the way she talked was soooo gentle...alamak. fainted! so what if i am a chung cheng student and i came from a mandarin-speaking family? cannot speak ah? as if speak english can improve gp is it? can just let me take oral then? haiz....i guess the only thing i will change is to read english newspapers..that's all...the speaking part is beyond my control...bleahhh!
i really wanna laughed out loud when she said to my mum tt i was a dilligent and hardworking student...i did not do well for exams was because my language sux..hahaha! actually to her disappointment i hardly write ans out of point and i dont have problem understanding the qns. most of the time..the prob lies with my content...guess she didnt realised that..haiz...

stressed...everyone got better results

[results] kinda stressed lately...stressed until i wan maths tuition myself. haiz i think i am a goner...results dropped badly from the start of this year..dunno why. i flopped 2 common tests and now my mid-yr paper..i never did so badly for mid-yr lor...
[review]..i am not prepared. didnt work hard enough ba. how to go uni? i left prelims and the real a level exam...haiz...maybe another common test coming up? will it be another help?
[parents' day] dunno what happened to my pals yday afternoon..wondered what our teachers said to them...tml is the day..but my mum dun wan to come in the afternoon..kaoz what u wan me to do..dun get back my result slip lor...better still..haiz

[sch]really kinda paiseh today!haiz..saw my name on the "improvement students for econs"..kaoz my grades so bad still let pple see...how can?! haiz...face gone liao...sharks!
good news was that gp presentation got postponed to next next week, now i got more time to prepare lor! yipee!
[tuition]haiz...mum agreed to let me have maths tuition...guess my weekly life will be more cham than now..but bo bian i cant handle the statistics part of ao maths...stupid ching..

[srjcians' day] well kinda fun yday. wanna say a big thank you to all those teachers who gave us presents! thanks! got a surprise with what ms gan gave us...our names with analysis...of coz i dun think it was very true lah but then can see some effort lor...she even changed the papers for those malay students...hohoho! the best gift was from jian gui...wonder where he got his lobang...haha!
the sad thing was my class couldnt wear the same colour shirts to sch...disappointed but then also cant blame anyone for not having the colour..haha! another sad thing was some of my pals had that ideal of individualism..not to say it is not good or what...definitely all of us are unique but then u can be an individual any time...it is only during school when we can practice unity...the spirit of unity of a class. individualism's negative point is that one wont sense the importance of unity, one only sees himself as an individual...[to those pals who saw this dun get offended, i am just saying from my point of view] the reason why i proposed to wear the same colour thing was becoz our class is too "individual" ..too scattered...A06 is always broken up...why other classes can be so unite but we cant? amazing race was another evidence to show that...1st part only me and pf ran all around the sch like mad women ...like only 2 of us playing the game for the whole class...then we tried to get help from our pals...they were kinda reluctant too...but some really made the effort to help us count the kois and flags...some didnt bother at all...in the end the class spirit wasnt there...1 yr plus liao...why we dun have the class spirit? why we gotta envy other classes for having that enthu spirit? ok enough of that...A06 wont have another srjcians' day anymore..we may not have any more chance to be unite as one...too bad
[guitar] stayed to discuss the new comm stuff from 2 pm onwards..and i left the sch at nearly 7pm...the results were announced..wanna congratulate all those pple who wanna serve guitar as comm. members and i hope u guys will bring guitar club to new heights! remember our common goal is to get a gold for SYF.however, that is not the most impt thing for the club...the most impt thing is to get guitar club famous and also promote unity in the club..it will be a big challenge...i believe u guys can do it!
[sect 2] well...though i had somehow said my "last words" but then my real step down date shld be sat after i explained the post thing to the new comm. err..very happy that joyce will be serving as president, yu jui as logistics and xiu rong as sect 2 leader...hope u guys can continue to let sect 2 be the best section..and also bond the 11 of u up...i promised to visit u guys when i am free ok?! also take care of ur studies...most of u dun have a gd mid-yr results...haha!
xiu rong thought i cried when we were saying our "last words"..hahahahhaha! aiyoz i kenna nose block lah..diaoz..
i am not water fountain leh! haha! i really hate to be a graduating student leh..haha...sec 4 and jc2...really sux.
well, hope guitar's alumni will be up somehow then i can still contribute to the club lah! cheers!
about today...
[econs] kaoz i am going to hate thurs from today onwards...crazy econs days! damn boring and waste of time! kaoz i am really going crazy...dunno what happened i kicked the chair in the classroom..haha! well i am not venting my anger lah just wanna kick lah...haha!
[improv comedy edu wkshop] wow! these grp of guys from chicago really rocks! they can just easily get everyone's attention in split seconds and the whole 1.75 hrs was really full of applauses and laughters..cool! they were really really great guys! haha! hope srjc can bring in more such wkshops for students..definitely enjoyable and worthwhile!
next week...
hectic life...common test for gp..sharks! gp presentation sharks! so many things to do ..damn it! haiz...mum gonna meet ms gan next mon..stress! i dun want to see my results! haiz....

tml is SRJCians' day...

[srjcians' day]kinda proud to be the 1st batch celebrating this special day.i guess not many schools have this. well, i think somehow our principal & teachers see us as an impt character in the school. this day which is tml is a day we bond together as a sch and as a class. well jc life is damn short...in this short 2 yrs many things took place...it wasnt easy to be a jc student really. this day kinda let us relax one day and forget all our stress....( butta still got 2 lessons leh..sobz) nevertheless, still wanna thank the sch for dedicating this day for us...arigato gozaimasu!
[2 major battles] 54 days to prelims & 100+ days to Alevels...wow very fast...guess all of us are not ready for these 2 battles ne..haiz kinda stress when mrs kok revealed our batch's performance for mid-yr..haiz my friends..we cant slack anymore...54 days are very short...actually even lesser than we thought when we deduct those holidays in july & august. all i wanna say is that let's forget and sacrifice all the fun we want and really buck up...2A06! u will make it! just do it! ganbatte kudasai ne!
