TV Drama Review #305 - I Need Romance 需要浪漫

No.of Eps: 16
Yr/TV Stn: 2011/tvN
Cast:
Jo Yeo Jung ~ Sun Woo In Young
Kim Jung Hoon ~ Kim Sung Soo
Choi Yeo Jin ~ Park Seo Yeon
Choi Song Hyun ~ Kang Hyun Joo
Choi Jin Hyuk ~ Bae Sung Hyun
Kim Hyung Min ~ Duk Soo
Ricky Lee Neely ~ Alex
Synopsis:
In Young and Sung Soo have been together for 10 years. As Sung Soo becomes a famous director, In Young was taken for granted and he two-timed her. In Young decides to break up with Sung Soo, and realises that Sung Hyun, her hotel colleague has a crush on her.
In Young's two buddies, Seo Yeon and Hyun Joo also have their own problems. Seo Yeon is a carefree woman who has a steady boyfriend, Alex, but she still flings with other men.
Hyun Joo is dumped by her fiance at the wedding altar. She hires Duk Soo to act as her husband and proceeds with the wedding.
Soon, the women start to have new relationship with new guys, and they support each other along the way...
Slacker's review:
I did not plan to watch this drama, but I gave it a try when I was doing testing in the middle of the night. Haha! I am glad that I made the right choice. INR is a very different kdrama, the vibe is different, and the characters are easy to relate too. I like the realistic plot and interesting conversations b/w characters. Everything is easy-going, nicely paced, and you'll start wanting more of the drama. Haha!
The women are the most impt characters here. Jo Yeo Jung, Choi Yeo Jin and Choi Song Hyun were excellent in their roles. Out of the 3, I've never watched JYJ's dramas before. Her acting was good, but I did not like how she talked. (Kinda fake to me? Hahaha!) Choi Yeo Jin's previous roles are rather negative, but I liked her performance here! Sexy and natural acting! Choi Song Hyun is lovely too, and her role is supposed to be the most inexperience among the 3 (she's the virgin bride~). It's interesting to see how she ended up becoming the "pro" in the grp.
This is Kim Jung Hoon's comeback drama, but I don't think he picked the right drama. Why? The drama's focus is on women! KJH's Sung Soo is really unlikeable. I really hate such guys, and I don't understand why In Young still loves him....maybe 10 yrs is really too long. KJH's acting is still not convincing enough for me. He needs a better role to prove himself ya.
Choi Jin Hyuk totally stole KJH's limelight. This man is sexy and attractive. Like his scenes with JYJ. Lots of sparks and chemistry~!
Kim Hyung Min is new to me, but surprisingly I found him interesting as well. (Lots of hunks in this show~hehe!) KHM may looked like a big boy in the drama, but he's attractive in his own way.
Highly recommended!

Hari Raya Holiday

--Lunch @ Hong Lim Complex--
It has been N years since I last ate Hokkien style Bah Kut Teh! It's simply delicious~!!! My family used to patron this stall @ Hong Lim when we were young. It's difficult to find the black soup version in most neighbourhoods now. I did not like the Teochew style as the soup is only made up of pepper and garlic.
--Shopping @ Vivocity--
No intention to buy things, but I bought 2 things in the end.
First is a half leather bag from a local brand call "Feb 29". They got quite a few nice bags with good designs. Price is slightly more ex for full leather ones.
Next, bought the same Zara long sleeve as Tuan. Haha!
Oh ya! Bought Goodwood Park Hotel's Durian & Mango Pomelo mooncakes again! Actually I thought of trying other hotel's mooncakes, but too lazy to go food testing. Hehe!!
--Dinner @ Hg Plaza--
Had "Tze Char" with family.
Sambal sotong...the chili tasted "sambal-less".
Broccoli with scallops. Yummy~
Stirred fried beef with black pepper sauce.

Singapore Art Museum

--DOME @ SAM--
Met up with long time no see Shelie and SC at SAM. Had our lunch @ DOME. Loved their food!
Our drinks. From left, SC's Iced Choc with Gelato, Shelie's Heineken and my Iced Coffee with Gelato.
Munchy Combi with potato wedges, prawns, chicken wings, sotong rings and fried rolls.
Our spicy prawn pizza. It's nt thin crust, but it's soft.
--Singapore Art Museum--
Haven't step into SAM for many years. Singaporeans do not need to pay admission fee in August, so saved some money.
Level 1 display wall.
Elephant~
Not sure if this rabbit is the mascot for SAM. Very cute~
I guessed we did not visit SAM at the right time. The special exhibition gallery is for kids, so we did not pay for it, and of coz' we cld nt enter the galleries. Managed to snap from one of the galleries though.
Very creative~
Who's that???? (There's a CCTV hidden up there)
Level 2 galleries are for "Video, an Art a History" exhibition. I thought I wld get to see paintings, but in the end, we get to see post-modern art.
"Moon is the oldest TV" by Nam June Paik.
"World Class Society" by Lee Wen.
Saw some "not so nice" remarks written by people who participated in this project.
There are many TVs showing different videos on various art presentations. Did nt sit down and watch them.
What a rare photo of "humans" in my blog!! Haha!
This exhibit is interesting. "Present Continuous Past(s)" by Dan Graham shows live recorded images shown on monitors after a slight time lag. I cld see a few of us through the camera and mirror reflections.
That's how the whole thing works.
"Identity, Now You're a Martial Raysse" by Martial Raysse. Basically we get to see ourselves in the monitor, with the CCTV live recording above the room.
"Interface" by Peter Campus. You'll see your reflections when you stand near the pane glass. The "reflections" are quite creepy....haha!
This is SJI's chapel and they screen some animations here. Watched a short film of a little boy and a penguin which lost its way. Very touching story, and the penguin is so cute~!
If you want to see paintings, then level 3 Wu Guanzhong Gallery is the place for you.
Mr Wu's 113 works were donated to National Heritage Board. Only a few of his works were displayed in the gallery.
花果山,1960
故乡之晨,1960
玉龙山下丛林,1978

SAM @ SJI's old campus.
-- Yi Qun Hainanese Chicken Rice--
Met up E.W & Tuan for my dinner at Purvis St. Their Chicken rice is simply delicious!
