Summary: "Green rose" stands for eternal love which only exist in heaven. Jung Hyun used to work in SR Electron Grp with Soo Ah, and they dated each other soon afterwards. Jung Hyun later realised that Soo Ah was the daughter of their company's president. Soo Ah's father soon met a mishap and slipped into coma, while Jung Hyun was arrested for murder and convicted to imprisonment. His mother committed suicide and he made use of this chance to escape. He went to China and endured hardship. He met his enemy Yoo Ran who was in love with the cunning Hyun Tae in China. Yoo Ran was betrayed by Hyun Tae and she became a hostress in a nightclub in China. Jung Hyun's boss gave him a new name "Jang Joong Won" and he decided to return to Korea to take his revenge on those people who framed him for the murder.
Comments: The storyline was very unique to me. A man framed for murder,returned home with a new identity and started his whole plan for revenge. Though I dont think there's a need to extend the drama from 16 to 22 epis. The storyline began to drag, and honestly, the pace of the drama wasnt fast too. The excitement wasnt really there coz' everything was moving on a slow pace. The storyline gave alot of developement to the characters in this drama. It's really a good chance for them to showcase their acting skills la.
Go Soo, the leading man in this drama did a terrific job. He's full of sorrowness and he's calm when plotting his revenge plans. The moments when he met Soo Ah but couldnt show his true identity to her, that pair of eyes was really sad. Hahaha! His performance here was much better than his latest drama "Marry a millionaire". He tried to pronounce his chinese lines as accurately as possible in those scenes filmed in China. I could said he tried his best but it's kinda unnatural coz' he "cut" the sentences into pieces. Hahaha!
Lee Da Hae gave a very natural performance here. Though I dont think her character has much changes or development, her acting as Soo Ah was really touching, especially her crying scenes.
Mr Baddie Shin Hyun Tae by Lee Jong Hyuk kinda stole the show. He has the face of a baddie leh. Havent seen his other dramas yet, but he definitely had left me with a deep impression. Most of the time he only gave me a same expression, but then i guessed it's alright for his character. Nobody wld even pity him in the drama i guess. Lolz!
Yoo Ran was a sad character, she's foolish becoz' of love. If u cant recognise Kim Suh Hyung, she was in "Lovers in Paris" acting as Park Shin Yang's ex-wife. Ha! Her character looked much prettier and sexier after she returned from China. But many ppl wld say she's dumb. Hyun Tae betrayed her but she's still willing to believe him. She couldnt get hold of Jung Hyun as well. She must be very jealous of Soo Ah then. I think Kim Suh Hyung is a good actress, and i hope to see her again in other dramas.
Well, this drama's genre is kinda hard to tell. Hahaha! I cant totally say this's a suspense drama. Love & revenge is the theme here. We wont know the real killer till the very last moment.
Rating: 7.5/10 (If only it could hooked me up...I dont like the pace, but i must give credits to the plot.)
