TV Drama Review #335 - Take Care of Us, Captain 拜托了机长

Yr/TV Stn: 2012/SBS
Cast:
Koo Hye Sun ~ Han Da Jin
Ji Jin Hee ~ Kim Yoon Sung
Yoo Sun ~ Choi Ji Won
Lee Chun Hee ~ Kang Dong Soo
Synopsis:
Han Da Jin is an inspired pilot who graduated from a prestigious pilot school in Australia. However, she lost her parents one after another and looses her faith in flying. She becomes the co-pilot of Kim Yoon Sung, a successful pilot of Wings Air. The two could not work out their differencess and have troubles working together. Da Jin realises that Ji Won, the air crew manager, also flies in the same plane and refuses to work with her. Ji Won happens to be the person who indirectly caused the death of Da Jin's mother. Da Jin's hatred causes other people to find it difficult to work with her.
However, Kang Dong Soo, a senior control tower manager, manages to befriend her as Da Jin and her sister resides at his place.
Da Jin starts to fall for Yoon Sung, and Yoon Sung realises that Da Jin is the daughter of his teacher, Pilot Han. Yoon Sung is the person who actually caused the death of Da Jin's mother, but Da Jin is unaware of the truth. Feeling guilty, Yoon Sung struggles to let his true feelings show. On the other hand, Ji Won wants to reconcile with Yoon Sung....
Why watch?
Ji Jin Hee & Koo Hye Sun is a fresh combi. Personally, I enjoyed Ji Jin Hee's dramas, so I thought I shld not missed this as well. Mr Ji's performance was excellent, but Yoon Sung is not a very challenging character for him. (JJH's usual characters are somewhat similar...I still prefer him with more eccentric characters. Lolz!)
Yoo Sun was great with her role. Ji Won has been living with guilt for too long. I am glad she redeemed herself in the end.
Lee Chun Hee's Dong Soo was not bad, but my impression of him is still the same. He needs a WOWcharacter to impress me.
Why skip?
I could not stand Koo Hye Sun here, and I was disappointed. Da Jin is very irritating at the beginning stage. I believe no pilots are as un-professional as her. Even you hate someone so much, you shld not bring your feelings to work. Da Jin is naive and acts childishly. She forgot her job is not just about one person, but a few hundred of them. Even as Da Jin got better later on, I still don't really like her. Sorry Hye Sun, I thought your acting was average. Expression was exaggerated and emotions un-controlled.
The storyline is abit ridiculous. We also have another unprofessional and childish manager who created trouble for her staff. "Eh you're the management of an airline company. How can such a person become leader? My goodness!"

My beautiful March....

IS GONE.

Thanks to the endless audits.

I can't even enjoy my birthday. Have to spend in my office working.

Unhappy ne!

Tuan is coming back next week. Hehe!

It's time for good food!

i Light Marina Bay 2012

--Esplanade to Marina Bay Sands--
Read about this light art festival on the newspapers and cld not wait to visit the art pieces.
E.W and I started our trip from Esplanade and walked all the way to Marina Bay City Gallery. I just realised I have not finished all the art pieces! Lolz!

Matchstick man playing the piano.

and he plays the drums as well.

Our lovely CBD at night. I am glad that my EP3 gave good colours. However, it's not easy to snap nice night shots. Tried so many times...ha!

Marina Bay Sands.

MBS with The Helix Bridge.

Forgot to take note of this art piece. With MBS in the background.

This "dancing men" art piece is damn cool! Had a tough time snapping the pics. It's a pity that most of them are not very clear.

My best shot for the dancing men~

Kungfu time!

This is probably the most famous art piece by Singapore, "Garden of Light".

"Enlightenment" by our fellow man.

View of MBS with pin-hole effect.

Sg Flyer.

"Garden of Light" starts....

Esplanade and the reflection.

CBD and the reflection.

Art Science Museum and the reflection.

Louis Vuitton's Island Mansion.

CBD from MBS viewing deck.

Jazz performance with dancers.

Another interesting art piece, which I did not snap the whole picture.

"Deck Journey". Nice chairs~

"Squid" is awesome too.

"The Gate" by a Chinese artist.

Another art work by Singaporean. Should be some kind of insect..lol!

It was a tough day snapping pictures in low light environment, and looks like a tripod stand certainly helps. Not sure if I would go down again to finish the rest of the art pieces.
Hopefully I am free :p

It's time to exercise!

Oh yeah! My bicycle got new tyres! (even though they are not as nice as the old ones~)
Planning to cycle around North Eastern Riverine Loop again, with Tuan & E.W soon :D

Shall conquer Punggol Point this time!

TV Drama Review #334 - Wild Romance 暴力的罗曼史

No.of Eps: 16
Yr/TV Stn: 2012/KBS
Cast:
Lee Dong Wook ~ Park Moo Yul
Lee Si Young ~ Yoo Eun Jae
Oh Man Suk ~ Jin Dong Soo
Jessica Jung ~ Kang Jong Hee
Synopsis: (from Dramawiki)
Everything starts on the birthday of Eun Jae's dad. Eun Jae ran into Park Moo Yul, who is the 2nd baseman of 'Green Dreamers', when she is drunk. Eun Jae who is a fan of 'Blue Seagulls', starts a fight with Moo Yul who led the 'Green Dreamers' to victory. The next day, internet is on fire with the video called 'Humiliated Park Moo Yul'. Because of this video, career of both Moo Yul and Eun Jae, who recently got a job as a bodyguard, are in danger. In the end, they decided to put on a show against the public! They lie that Eun Jae is Moo Yul's private bodyguard and the video was recorded when Eun Jae was giving a self-defence demonstration to Moo Yul. Like this, Eun Jae becomes real bodyguard of Moo Yul. It seemed like everything worked out just fine, but the problem is that they can't stand each other's existence...
Why watch?
"Wild Romance" looks like a rom-com on surface, but the mystery element is very strong in the drama. I thought the blend of mystery in a rom-com was interesting. At least the drama does not look down right typical to me.
Lee Dong Wook returned to the small screen in such a short time! His character MY was quite different from his usual, and it was a good change for him. Mr Lee's acting is getting better, and his chemistry with his co-stars are always quite good.
Lee Si Young impressed me with her performance in "The Birth of the Rich". Recently, Ms Lee rose to A list rank with her first leading role in "Poseidon". Eun Jae is her 2nd lead role, and she changed a brand new image. Short curly hair & tom-boyish looking! I like actress who tries out different roles, and Eun Jae is not a very easy character to act. Lee Si Young's acting was kinda exaggerating but she got better later on.
Last but not least, we got to see SNSD's Jessica debut as an actress. Personally, I thought her performance was not that bad, but her image is still too idol to me.
Overall, all the characters in the drama were quite well developed, and they have different levels/depths. No one is portrayed as super nice or ultra bad.
Why skip?
If you don't like mystery plots, maybe you might find "Wild Romance" somewhat disappointing. (it's not a pure rom-com).
