High-flier Mai Ti Shuang has dissociated himself from the business world by showing deep regret to the suicide of his mentor. Later, he learns that his mentor’s wife Mu Lian is in great debt and he starts selling "business tactics" to a trader for Lian’s debt recovery. Deadbeat Shuang refuses to take a full time job and that makes his income change from day to day. A tough collection agent, Lin Miao Miao, tries every means to push him into a corner. They keep playing tricks on each other and finally become a pair of rival lovers.
By chance, Shuang meets his uterine brother An Zu Lian. He thereby recalls the tragic memories of the past when his mother deserted him and his father. This triggers the hatred hidden deep inside his heart and leads him to seek revenge against An’s family. Shuang’s abrupt change left Miao confused.
Slacker's review:
You're Hired might not looked interesting with the story and cast, but it was quite entertaining, though some parts of the storyline dragged a little. Basically the drama is in 3 phrases. First is how Shuang entered Miao's world, 2nd is how Shuang reunited with his mum and planned his "revenge". Last but not least, the return of Shuang's mentor. There were some good twists & turns, but the ending was unsatisfying.
Chemistry b/w Dayo & Charmaine was really good. They don't seem to match on appearance, but watching them bicker endlessly was quite entertaining. Haha! I have to say Charmaine's performance was really good. She had thrown away her classy image and went all out to portray the "not-classy-at-all" Miao Miao.
Dayo is always the same...haha! I did not expect too much from him, as actors like him have their own acting style (though to be honest, that also means they don't change much). I thought Shuang was damn dumb after his mentor returned. Yeah he thought he owed his mentor alot, but where was your wits?
The support cast was not too bad, especially Power Chan. His character was neither good nor bad, as he's one fella who's very practical, and greedy. Typical human ah~
Theme song is "Mei Wen Ti" by Dayo Wong.
